i7 920 and some benching
Well, it had been a while since I stopped the rig from crunching and actually benched for a good period of time. Also I had not pushed my new D0 at all.
So here is my best results of the day, it still has more left in it, I didn't tweak the RAM, or anything. Just upped the BCLK and vcore, did this without a reboot to be honest. First time it crashed I stopped the benching. Batch #3849A866 3dmark 06 (beat the c/f 4870' setup) http://img.techpowerup.org/090919/Capture030.jpg wprime http://img.techpowerup.org/090919/Capture027.jpg super pi http://img.techpowerup.org/090919/Capture028.jpg |
Looking good David, seems like good clockin chip, wonder if the crunched break in had a positive effect on voltages.

hehe, sometimes we get lucky and walk on water, other times we just drown in a pool of condensation, LOL !

I got two ek water blocks for the gx2 sitting here doing nothin, u got blocks?
|
No I don't. PM me if you want to get rid of them, I don't gaurantee I can buy them as I'm a bit down right economically, but I'll see what I can do if the price is right.
|
What price u lookin for?
|
dude, give me a price bro, I don't even know what they go for
|
Just name ur price, they are nickel plated

Damn, i7 just crushes some 2D benches. At 4.6 GHz it is twice as fast as my AMD 920 in Super Pi (at ~4 GHz).
I can't wait to see what I can do in some 3d06 and Vantage with the 4890 :) |

Yah I know spi does better on Intel, but your wprime score is 4 seconds better than my 3.8 GHz run... clock for clock is closer, but still much better :)

Well, although not my personal best, and not good for any BOINTS, now with the new PSU rig seems to be running much better and stable for benching. However, since it's in a case and not the tech station, temps had me stop here. Once I move this back out to the tech station when the AMD components arrive, we'll see. The runs definitely look promising. Still got more CPU headroom to go, but temps are already at about 85șc. The card still has about 100-120 MHz more to clock from the core. I think this time around I can do 27k. What do you 'll think?

Chicken man, can you up the dram ratio and let the mhz fly a lil then check your cpu score at the higher ram mhz for a comparison?

The CPU score ain't bad is it? |
Quote:
Altho I dunno what teh mem speeds were on that run. |
hitting higher as in overall score?
|
No, I was talkin the cpu score.

I have removed the rig I had on the tech station from it. Going to take apart my precious build to put it on the tech station. Making room for the new toys coming soon :) But it also allows me to bench the i7 again :)

Little Bench Session. Figured out how to go higher on BCLK, now to try wprime with my newly found secrets (secrets to me, sure lots of you know it) But i'll try it tomorrow or something.
Don't think the super pi run will get me any boints, but the wprime will get me about another boint or so. Best Wprime of the night, but this was before I found out how to go above that clock. http://img.techpowerup.org/091212/Capture248.jpg Best Super pi http://img.techpowerup.org/091212/Capture258.jpg Both are personal bests for me. I was able to get the RAM to run with a divider of 8, but failed after a pass or two of super pi. I'll work on that next as well. http://img.techpowerup.org/091212/Capture252.jpg Also my highest validation http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=878245 |
Very nice work Chicken Patty. Glad you found the secret ;)
Unlike soups who pumped excesses of IOH Vcore past 1.5v  I'm a noob4life :D |
Quote:
BTW, 1.5v on the IOH :ohcrap: |
Hey duder try feeding that board a bit more nb v.
I/O to 1.575 and IOHvcore to 1.325.....may help tighten things up a bit.;) |

I never had to put extra IOH VCore 1.1v past its default or ICH VCore 1.05v past its default and I did benching up to 5.2ghz. I think those are unnecessary volts to be adjusting.
Maybe this will help you out but this is what I was using at 5.153ghz in SuperPi32m under DICE. Just comparison sakes. http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/j...SuperPi32m.jpg I actually started using less vcore in the end. I wanna say around 1.45-1.48v. |
What ram are you running CP?
It seems there is something hinky with your ram settings, as 1 SS is reporting 6 GB dual channel and the other 2 are reporting 4 GB single channel. It should be showing 6 GB triple channel. |

Well there is two separate IOH VCores now. An IOH Vcore 1.1v and an IOH/ICH I/O Voltage 1.5v. You have to bump them both up?
|
Quote:
I usually leave the IOH/ICH/I/O one on auto as I don't know what it does. |
ioh.ich i/o it is good to give it some juice when 3D benching or running more than one video card.
Cant believe you got past 222 BCLK. Going to give it one more try before I Ebay my i7 setup. |
Quote:
Anyhow, let us know if you can get past that bro, up the PCI-E frequency a mhz or two. |
I have run up to 110 PCIE freq trying to pass 222, but did not try something as low as 102, will try it again and see if a specific freq opens it up or not.

Posting from the phone. Currently running 3dmark 06. Previous run already got me about a boint or so, this run if it finishes will be better. I'll post my results from tonight after this run. It'll be my last run of the night, gotta go to bed.
