OMFG! I want to shoot myself!!

Well I'm a complete freakin dumbass! I just finished d/l all the drivers and crap I need to bench on the ole thumbdrive. Go to start making partitions on the hdd to prep the OS's and bam! I freakin clear my thumb drive out.

This freaking sucks. I had so much shit on there to save d/l time including all the benches. So much for tonight. guess I'll be d/ling shit again to do it next week. Frack there goes all my comparison screenies too :(

Neuromancer 10-21-2009 09:21 AM

Ugh I hate when that happens.

I have done that a couple times with storage drive/partitions.

Chuchnit 10-21-2009 09:40 AM

What sucks worse is that it seems to have borked the thumb drive. I can't believe I was stupid enough to do that. Damn windows won't format the drive now.

FACE 10-21-2009 10:47 AM

Damn dude that sux ass.....

Load up ubuntu and format the drive with that... I've done it with countless FAT drives that windows borked on and then wouldn't touch....

Learn you lesson? Keep a backup! I keep my d/l files on my flash, and then in a "flash" folder on the lappy.

Windows wont fix it even from Disk Management?

Ya I learned to slow the hell down, lol. I actually have a backup of the thumbdrive, but unfortunately the external hdd isn't within a hour of me so...

No disk management wouldn't do it, but that was because I had to go back like I was going to reinstall and format it there. Now it works fine. Still i had so many screenies with certain drivers/LOD settings for comparision to refresh my memory when benching. All that stuff is lost

Reminds me of the time I had two hdd's plugged in and I formatted the wrong hdd. The other hdd had all my downloads and what not like your thumb drive did as well as saved game data.

FACE 10-21-2009 11:56 AM

I'm sure we all have done that... Well not that exactly.

Most of the time you can get it all back, as long the HDD/flash drive/ camera card is in decent shape.

FACE 10-21-2009 12:21 PM

Chuchnit 10-22-2009 01:52 AM

FACE's software is da bomb, but the screenies were destroyed. Oh well it motivated me to retest 32m tweaks. Prolly a good thing and makes me not be lazy.

Gutterz 10-22-2009 12:51 PM

Ive done that too an it sux. Once I formatted my storage drive I was pissed.
I tried a program called recovermyfiles an It recovered about 95% of my stuff so it wasnt that bad just a pita. What program you use? pm I need be.
