karmakazi 12-04-2009 09:41 AM

Then the next day I got this in my inbox...

Followed by this message the next night...

Quote:

ok sounds good to me I will put gauges on the second stage I don't think that they are needed for the first stage as well as I do have the first stage done and it will be running today I hope then tomorrow I will go out and buy the gauges and the cap tubes I need to get the second stage all running as I need 2 captube one 0.031 and one 0.036 some poe for another system I am building as well thinking of changing the cap tube on that system as well so I guess I need 2 0.036 cap tube and get the gauges. now for your hotgas bypass I will just be using as hand valve and I big cap tube so u can ajust the temp u would need to get past the coldbug so I guess for me having it done for the 28th I should have it done by then hoping to have it together this week then that gives me like 3 weeks to test and tune the system as well I just have to make new mounting bracket for the evap as this mounting does not have 1366 on it. can u think of anything else u would like if u do feel free to ask and I would do my best to help out

karmakazi 12-04-2009 09:43 AM

And then today I received this !!!!

http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/8551/cascade4.png

karmakazi 12-04-2009 09:44 AM

I already got the perfect place to put it too. 4 foot tall, 3 level steel cart on beefy wheels. Cascade will go on the middle shelf, benchtable on the top. Lowest level can hold random stuff like shop towel, torch refills, insulation, etc.

Im psyched :p

Witchdoctor 12-04-2009 09:45 AM

Very cool stuff ... can't exspand pics???

Witchdoctor 12-04-2009 10:48 AM

DrNip 12-04-2009 01:18 PM

Nice.... Keep us posted. I still would like to get a phaser one day. If I were to dream it would be cascading.

Kal-EL 12-04-2009 06:07 PM

Very nice

thebanik 12-05-2009 01:25 AM

Ruffus is a great guy, I bet he wont even have taken the full amount from you yet.......

Neuromancer 12-05-2009 03:29 AM

Were doing a trade, Jody brings the cascade to me, and brings the parts to him. It worked out great for both of us

ruffus 12-06-2009 05:56 AM

well the system is being vac'ed down as i type this msg so i am hoping to have some of the wirring done so i can start it to do the tunning and stuff then i will do the final wirring so i will post more pics later or i think i already sent the new pics to the oweners email so maybe he might post them but i am sure it should be done for the 28th but since there is no case i can not put in controllers so he will have to invest in K-type temp displays or a fluck or something i could get controllers but that would be another $100usd plus no where to mount them

Never knew you were a member here, whats up ruffus!

No need for controller, just install a k type probe in the evap head  I have plenty of k-type digi thermometers to read it.

lakeside2189 12-07-2009 12:05 PM

Really nice man..You have a talent!!!!

karmakazi 12-08-2009 06:28 AM

For anyone interested, I would highly recommend ruffus to anyone for a build. Very trustworthy and responsive builder. He pretty much built the entire unit in a matter of a few days. He was working real late sending me emails at 3AM with his progress. Open and frequent communication.

This guy sure wouldnt screw people over, like so many phase builders in the past/present (chilly1, jinu117, etc).

karmakazi 12-14-2009 03:46 AM

Not much to update about. There was a very small leak in the first stage which was already fixed. The unit is fully brazed up and charging/tuning is beginning. I expect some frosty pics in the next few days!!!

karmakazi 12-18-2009 01:41 PM

Not much else to report yet. Still tuning the unit and working out the issues.

karmakazi 12-20-2009 02:24 PM

Chicken Patty 12-20-2009 07:16 PM

I'm so jealous :(

Looks good man, can't wait till you put it to use :toast:

Kal-EL 12-20-2009 11:46 PM

Its all part of the process. I told him to take his time and get everything perfect. If it takes an extra week or two im willing to wait. But once I have it I dont want to have any problems

Chicken Patty 12-21-2009 06:56 AM

All I will say is that patience pays off.

karmakazi 01-04-2010 06:15 PM

Small update: Unit is leak free, and charged up! Holding steady @ -84, but ruffus is going to change cap tube size, and tune a bit more. -90 is the number! Were hoping for good news and delivery by the end of the month. Then... watch out :D

karmakazi 01-11-2010 05:13 AM

We are now officially @ about -102 idle. :D Maybe next week we will have delivery of this monster. Ruffus wants it to idle at approx. -105 so that under full 300 watt load will be -90 or better.

so I found a electronic box for the system so I can put all the caps in the box and as well as most of the wires and even the switches to turn on the first and second stage so we are getting it done here are some pics of the box and some of the stuff that goes in it. I think I am going to get it powder coated as well so it looks good as well it did not have a cover so I had to make one so it is bare steel and it needs to be painted or something and since I have a case that needs to be powder coated I decided that I would get this box done to. when it is done it will be a nice black sand finish and will look real nice.

I wanted to add that this wasnt ever part of the deal. Just something he did on his own. I would recommend Brad to anyone needing a phase unit. Honest guy and good communication!

Kal-EL 01-11-2010 05:34 AM

Thats good news kk, glad to hear you have a reliable builder on you're hands.

Chicken Patty 01-11-2010 06:57 AM

Where is Brad located? Anyway, this phase build looks promising. Monter????

ruffus is canadian and lives near toronto. Definitely a good guy and great builder. I'll probably have a two stage built by him since i can skip out on shipping and make the 6 hour drive to the border

sweet, I'll make the drive too! Only that it'll take me like 48 hours LOL

karmakazi 02-16-2010 06:12 AM

ok been a while since I updated here...ran into some issues.

unit would idle nicely but not hold any load whatsoever at any captube length. 2nd stage compressor needed to be swapped out he also changed oil I believe

too make up for the delay brad replaced with a 18k btu monster that should hold lower temps(!). He should know by Tuesday if all is well. If it is I am on track for delivery in 1-2 weeks !

Splave 02-16-2010 06:53 AM

good news! really have to work with good people you trust with these things and sounds like he is taking good care of ya. Should be beastin in no time bro

Chicken Patty 02-16-2010 02:20 PM

1-2 weeks :toast:

Kal-EL 02-19-2010 04:28 AM

I forget, what was incoming again?

Witchdoctor 02-19-2010 08:25 AM

Can't wait to see this beast in action .............

Maybe you have it on time for the Dimas contest .....

karmakazi 03-01-2010 04:41 AM

Update from last night is very good news. One more cap tube reduction and recharge with dirty gas to see if it can hold full load. Then a vaccum and recharge with new gas and I should be seeing a CADE SOON!!!! :)

Witchdoctor 03-01-2010 04:44 AM

Awsome .... nothing like flicking a switch for instant sub zero

karmakazi 03-01-2010 05:12 AM

Yeah man im so psyched :D I got SO MUCH hardware to test thats been backing up...

Witchdoctor 03-01-2010 05:15 AM

Dam bro did a Micro center exsplode at your pad or what ??? :ohcrap:

karmakazi 03-26-2010 03:46 AM

Well the unit was holding loads better after the new compressor but still some issues. The non floated oil sep is being replaced with a floated version, and Brads gonna hook me up with a free case for the wait :)
