nvidia 8800 quesioin
 

If I were looking to pickup hardware pointsby picking up an 8800 - which model would I wont - the GT, the GTS, or the GTX?? Which of the three OCs better?

You can compare them on the bot but I got the most bang for the buck off the 8800 GTS 640mb.

Theres a bot research post stickied in the Sancturary De Bellator for this specific purpose "Hardware Research".

working on a 9600 GT at EOCF but the dude wants too much ... trying to get him down to 50 shipped

figuring 6 of these gems will put me in the 1K club ... I also have some scrub cards I will tourcher a bit too

Yeah they can all net you some big points. I know the 8800 gts 640 and 512 are easily modded.

@Withdoctor - I had both the 8600gt and 9600gt last year. Both can be modded easily too just make sure you get some that can. I bought the wrong 9600gt's and couldn't do shit with them.

Never modded any cards what is the proceedure ???

and is there a specific brand that you need to get ??

I also found a pencil mod for the 8600's. I have no clue how effective it is though.... Easy enough to play around with.

8600gt's are a great 1st vmod card. Easy, nice big ic legs to solder to.

Airgas is prolly going to be bought out. There was a $60 per share bid on it Friday by Air Products & Chemicals Inc. Thursday stock closed at $43.53. I dunno what this means for the joe-blows like us that filler up there.
