Its official
Just placed the order (with the help of a friend) for an Evga 762 :ohcrap:
Did it through Tigerdirect with bingcahback, it came to about $480 shipped to my house. I also did the bingcashback so i can get around $40 back and the board had a MIR, so $70 off isn't bad . Expected delivery is Thursday the 18th. Anything i should do when i get it ? which bios for the 920 ? Going to try to get 3-way 5770 going for some boints :clapping: |
Wow dude, took the plunge heh? Why the 762? You goin for quad action?

Plus the price was too good to pass up right now with all the returns i can get from it. I saved about $100 once i get the MIR/Bing and with the free shipping and no tax |
Congrats Juan, I can't wait for my new toys, wait? New?? Well new but old toys
|
Congrats indeed, I must admit I am a little jealous! lol
|
All I had to do was ship to me instead of him, I was the one who bough it for him. I should have just changed the shipping address  hahahaha
|
Yea i would of gone with faster shipping but i can wait. It will give me some time to get my Water Loop ready for some OC

Isn't that when x58 just came out ? |

I remember you got yours up and running, prices have seriously gone down. The UD5 build cost me around $540 and that was only Mobo+CPU+Ram
Hopefully i can do better then 4.7ghz on the Classy, i would settle for 4.8ghz benchable on water |

Board - $300 CPU - $300 RAM - $150 (over paid at Tiger Direct to get rig going) |
Quote:
i bought all of it used CPU- $270 UD5- $200 Ram- $85 <-- From CP |

Amazing the i7 920 is about $11 cheaper than when it came out. It's been a year already, slightly over actually. |
Yeah most I ever spent was for the E758 ($200 shipped). Almost twice what I paid for the MSI platinum ($125)
Once the classies fall below $300 (they are close) for a used one.. I may have to sell off my AMD stuff and go back to Intel just so I can also participate in 3D benching :) |

I cant find the model # on that one Gutters, I need the V1 version of the 5770 since the ram is better from what people say. All 3 of my 5770 are XFX with the double Lifetime warranty so if i can get another one for $130-40 shipped it would complete my collection :D

Now that I just paid $470 for this Classified it seems like a bargain LOL. |
I scored this 760 for $350 from fry's, it was the one they had zip-tied up to the wall for display lol.
My 759 on the other hand I paid $500 for :/ |
920 DO were $ 199.99 at Micro Center
Now they went up to $ 229.99 ...... still not bad for one of those little gems |
There was a thread over at ocn that said they were selling i7 930's now for $280, for $60 more you get an extra multi on cpu. It comes clocked at 2.8ghz so its x21 but with the turbo its a x22
|
How are they on the bot .... worth anything ???
still would be great for 3D though |
Quote:
4.2ghz on an ES chip, but it shows the multi at x21 and not x22 |
Yeah 930 looks to be a score for the air guys wanting to close in on 5GHz...
But Boints are where the submissions are, if everyone does not jump on board... well it will still be a good 3D chip :) |
yea pretty much worthless for 2D .....
I am ready for 6 cores ....... |
