Its official

Just placed the order (with the help of a friend) for an Evga 762 :ohcrap:

Did it through Tigerdirect with bingcahback, it came to about $480 shipped to my house.
I also did the bingcashback so i can get around $40 back and the board had a MIR, so $70 off isn't bad . Expected delivery is Thursday the 18th.

Anything i should do when i get it ?
which bios for the 920 ?
Going to try to get 3-way 5770 going for some boints :clapping:

RomDominance 02-12-2010 02:01 PM

I told myself i was never going to go with multiple 5770 but now i got 3 and i'm thinking about going with another one if i can find it cheap.

Plus the price was too good to pass up right now with all the returns i can get from it. I saved about $100 once i get the MIR/Bing and with the free shipping and no tax

Chicken Patty 02-12-2010 03:27 PM

Chicken Patty 02-12-2010 03:32 PM

All I had to do was ship to me instead of him, I was the one who bough it for him. I should have just changed the shipping address  hahahaha

Assassin48 02-12-2010 03:53 PM

Yeah it was the same month or a month after x58 was released.

Assassin48 02-12-2010 10:25 PM

I remember you got yours up and running, prices have seriously gone down. The UD5 build cost me around $540 and that was only Mobo+CPU+Ram

Hopefully i can do better then 4.7ghz on the Classy, i would settle for 4.8ghz benchable on water

At the time I got that board the i7 920 and the 2x1GB DDR3 1333 for $750.

Board - $300
CPU - $300
RAM - $150 (over paid at Tiger Direct to get rig going)

the RAM was the PI's right?

Amazing the i7 920 is about $11 cheaper than when it came out. It's been a year already, slightly over actually.

Neuromancer 02-13-2010 07:50 AM

Yeah most I ever spent was for the E758 ($200 shipped). Almost twice what I paid for the MSI platinum ($125)

Once the classies fall below $300 (they are close) for a used one.. I may have to sell off my AMD stuff and go back to Intel just so I can also participate in 3D benching :)

I cant find the model # on that one Gutters, I need the V1 version of the 5770 since the ram is better from what people say. All 3 of my 5770 are XFX with the double Lifetime warranty so if i can get another one for $130-40 shipped it would complete my collection :D

dang, I paid $500 for Gigabyte X58 Extreme, $450 for a C0 920 and $400 for 3x1g Patriots lol. That was the day everything hit the market though.

Now that I just paid $470 for this Classified it seems like a bargain LOL.

Dentlord 02-14-2010 04:37 AM

I scored this 760 for $350 from fry's, it was the one they had zip-tied up to the wall for display lol.

My 759 on the other hand I paid $500 for :/

Witchdoctor 02-14-2010 05:22 AM

920 DO were $ 199.99 at Micro Center

Now they went up to $ 229.99 ...... still not bad for one of those little gems

Assassin48 02-14-2010 05:36 AM

There was a thread over at ocn that said they were selling i7 930's now for $280, for $60 more you get an extra multi on cpu. It comes clocked at 2.8ghz so its x21 but with the turbo its a x22

Witchdoctor 02-14-2010 05:47 AM

How are they on the bot .... worth anything ???

still would be great for 3D though

theres only 1 submission and its a cpu-z shot

4.2ghz on an ES chip, but it shows the multi at x21 and not x22

Neuromancer 02-14-2010 05:58 AM

Yeah 930 looks to be a score for the air guys wanting to close in on 5GHz...

But Boints are where the submissions are, if everyone does not jump on board... well it will still be a good 3D chip :)

Witchdoctor 02-14-2010 07:00 AM

yea pretty much worthless for 2D .....

I am ready for 6 cores .......

Dang.

I paid $50 for my Patriot 3x1GB and 225 for my NIB 920 D0 (buddy lived near a Microcenter)
