I Hate This Part Here...

...of waiting for computer parts to show up!!!!! :argh::argh::argh: Wednesday can't come quick enough.

Jeffro64 03-21-2009 05:24 PM

I feel your pain.....

Kal-EL 03-21-2009 07:27 PM

Mon/Tues I'm expecting to expect a delay of weds/thurs as usual. Hopefully the High Surf Advisory for all east facing shores, brings the canoe in a little quicker.

DrNip 03-22-2009 04:10 AM

Well RAM, 1366 socket kit gets here Mon. Tues mobo gets here and Wed I am banking on the CPU as they show it to be in stock Mon and if they ship it that day then should be Wed as I paid $2 more for 2 day shipping.

Looks like you will have the crown soon LOL

DrNip 03-23-2009 09:24 AM

Good afternoon everyone-

We had hoped to have these shipped out today or tomorrow, as that was
the original ETA provided by Intel for our receipt of the processors.
Delivery has been delayed, however, our latest information indicates
there may be a hold up with customs, but we aren't sure yet. We're
working with Intel to get these in hand ASAP, and are currently
expecting mid this week. We'll update everyone once we have a definite
shipping date.

If you have any questions/concerns/comments, please feel free to respond
to this e-mail. Thanks!

oh crap :rroulette:

Kal-EL 03-23-2009 05:01 PM

Sucks man.

If it makes u feel better, I slept thru the delivery of an F1 pot

DrNip 03-24-2009 04:01 AM

Oh when it rains it pours...

Hello again everyone-

Good news and bad news: The good news is we have a shipping date - the bad news is it's Wednesday 4/1, due to some unforeseen delays in the allocation/shipping process. An unfortunate consequence of our trying to cater to these specific requests is that the process does not always go as smoothly as just ordering "stock" components from the regular distribution channel, as it requires coordination with many people along the supply chain. We're very sorry for the delay, and are doing everything we can to get them in as quickly as we can.

That being said, if anyone does not wish to wait, we completely understand, and we'll be glad to offer a full refund (including the original "non refundable" $5 deposit). For those that do wait, we'll be including some little Core i7 Goodies: Pens, magnets, tear pads, and lanyard cards.

We're extremely sorry for the delay, but we'll get these shipped out ASAP. As usual, if anyone has any questions, please just respond to this e-mail. Have a good day!

I did at least sell my Kingston RAM lickidy-split style! :D

Kal-EL 03-24-2009 04:33 AM

Bummerzman.....fight11

Chuchnit 03-24-2009 04:36 AM

You sold your kingston? The new 2000mhz chips?

DrNip 03-24-2009 04:37 AM

Yep. They were the Samsung versions as Newegg got the Elpida's in yesterday for $154.99. Picked me up a set of the 3x1GB. I have it here in this thread.

Wow how did I miss that thread? Replied ;)

Komadyret 03-24-2009 04:49 AM

Waiting.. waiting... it's an all too familiar game, and we're all playing it at some point :argh::argh::argh:

Looking forward to some entertaining oc-spam-posts once you eventually get all the parts

Jeffro64 03-24-2009 05:56 AM

Damn that sux.... The same thing always seems to happen to me when it's something I wanted/needed yesterday. When i'm looking for parts most of the time I try to find them here in town where I can walk in and walk out with them in hand.... even if it's a few dollars more, unless the online price is just too good to pass up. But I live in the big city so most of the time thats not a problem.

DrNip 03-24-2009 09:07 AM

I live in Oklahoma City. Closet thing to a computer shop is Best Buy. There was a Circuit City, PC Club and CompUSA but they all closed down.

Jeffro64 03-24-2009 09:10 AM

I wish I would have known that.... I was just up there last week!

DrNip 03-24-2009 01:21 PM

Well mobo is broke. Upon opening it I noticed that it was packaged wrong as the box has a window in it and you are suppose to see the mobo thru it. Well it was in backwards so you couldn't see the mobo. I pull it out and put it on my tech station just to see a broken piece on it. I quit.

Damn man...that is really F'ed up.
Where did you buy it? Was it in the box upside down from the factory?

DrNip 03-24-2009 01:27 PM

OK I feel better it was in the box correct. For some reason they have this window that should show the mobo but doesn't because they put it in there backwards. I ordered it from motherboardpro.com.

Was it an open box purchase?

DrNip 03-24-2009 01:41 PM

No, brand new. I didn't even hook one piece of hardware to it.

Jeffro64 03-24-2009 01:56 PM

Sorry to hear that... Now I see what that post in the other thread meant.

The only thing worse is to have no visible damage so you set the whole thing up only to find out the board is DOA.

Chuchnit 03-25-2009 02:46 AM

Man this blows chuncks. Have you talked to mobopro yet?

DrNip 03-25-2009 04:13 AM

Just talked to them and they are a bunch of chumps. I knew I shouldn't have stepped outsde my newegg box on purchases like motherboards, gpu's and psu's. They are trying to tell me that we will have to send it back to the manufacturer in China. BLEEP that as I didn't pay for a broken motherboard and I damn sure didn't pay for a broken motherboard that has to be sent back to the manufacturer to get fixed before I even used it.

Well they have just been removed from the list of places I will shop with. I understand that is how dfi works but they should have protection for their customers like freakin replacement boards for rma

FFS, we should make a externally viewable thread about bad retailer experiences so everyone can see that shit.:mad::mad:

DrNip 03-25-2009 05:05 AM

Well I wrote them an email back saying that sending it back to the manufacturer for repair wasn't an option and that I didn't pay for a brand new mobo just to have it repaired out the gate. They wrote me back and clarified that DFI has a facility in California but that they wouldn't be sending it there and sending it back to me but that they would either send me a new one or refund my money. I told them to refund my money. Going with the egg this time. Will post back when more details come in.

Well, I'm glad u got some options out of them brother. It seemed bleek for a bit but now it looks more like a delay to the innevitable pwnage to follow.

DrNip 03-25-2009 05:31 AM

Here is there email. Hopefully I can get a reund. All else fails a new mobo.

Travis-
DFI has a facility in California. It has to go to them as they are going to
have to give our money back as well. We were not planning on trying to
repair the board that was damaged. I will do the RMA for new replacement or
credit/refund, whichever you prefer but it does have to go back through them
especially if it is damaged. I have sent an email already, they are not open
until 12 est. I expect to hear back shortly after that. If all options are
possible, do you want to do the refund?

Thank you
Melissa

Agreed......

DrNip 03-25-2009 05:58 AM

Oh we'll create a thread but I have to wait to see if they clean this up. So far it looks to be that way. This morning though it didn't.

spfoam1 03-25-2009 06:09 AM

I get the impression that they would have just screwed you if they could have.....even attempting that kind of thing is BS. The need to be posted in the Hall of Shame so they pay a price for attempting that kind of crap.

That is just the opinion of a mean old bastard though....

I agree, a hall of shame for retailers that is externally viewable would be a fine thing.
