Hola Senoirs,

HERE I AM IN mexico..on vacation. ITS 6 AM AND I HAVE TO LOG ON TO THE WEB SITE. i miss you guys. lol all i well here. not to hot but still in the upper 70´s to mid 80´s during the day. still better than the north east. going south today to see some Mayan temples and ruins then cave diving. should be fun. tried fishing yesterday but the seas were rough as hell and we had to go back in to shore before we all puked our guts up. Way to much Tequilla...would have been some good chum but we didnt like the idea of it. lol TTYL

Duke

ps... nice score you guys have put up in the last few days. keep on pushing team.

Sounds like a great vacation! I have a blast every time I get down to mexico.

I feel your withdrawal pain, havent benched in a week now!!

At least you are down there in paradise, that has to ease the pain some ;)

Witchdoctor 03-07-2010 03:21 AM

Rip it up Duke and have a ball ..... OCA will be here when you get back ....

They are saying close to 50 here today so when you do get back hopfully it won't be to much of a shock like last year I got back from San Juan from 90 when I got on the plane to 20's when I got off in Philly ............ that was a serious bummer

Have a great time and rip it up when you get back .... taking the 6 4 0 out for a spin today and saying goodbye ........................... LOL

Take it light bro

HITandRUN 03-07-2010 03:29 AM

Take some cool pictures of the Mayan Temples. Just becarefull, the natives may think you're stealing their souls.

RomDominance 03-07-2010 05:45 AM

posted this in another thread but thought you might catch it here sooner...

Hope your having a great time Dukie, miss you bud. Been to Talum before, pretty place. Make the trip over to Xel-ja a take a snorkel or free dive in there....very kewl experience with the dolphins and the brackish water...prettiest corals in that area fosho.

Well unfortunately i din't have a full charge on my digital camera battery when i went there but i did manage a few with it.

I copied this info from the website........

The earliest date lifted from the site is A.D. 564 (the inscription on a stele) This places Tulum within the Classic period, though we know that its heyday was much later (1200 - 1521 A.D.) during the Late Post-classic period. Tulum was a major link in the Maya's extensive trade network. Both maritime and land routes converged here. Artifacts found in or near the site testify to contacts that ranged from Central Mexico to Central America and every place in between: copper rattles and rings from the Mexican highlands; flint and ceramics from all over the Yucatán jade and obsidian from Guatemala and more. The first Europeans to see Tulum were probably Juan de Grijalva and his men as they sailed reconnaissance along the Eastern coast of Yucatán in 1518. The Spaniards later returned to conquer the Peninsula unwittingly bringing Old World diseases which decimated the native population. And so Tulum, like so many cities before it, was abandoned to the elements.

I thought i'd throw one in of the wife and i on the beach at our resort. Pretty cool birds. lol

If anyones interested in the history of the ruins and more photos check out this link.

Splave 03-11-2010 02:36 AM

AWESOME, great pics duke. Must have been epic

RomDominance 03-11-2010 04:10 AM

Place hasn't aged a bit! Sorry, bad joke, but it looks the same as when I was there 10 yrs ago. Oh and btw, the Ferengi docs did a great job making you both look huuumaaan. How many strips of latinum did it take to get those birds to stay for the pic? Glad your back safe and had a great time old friend, you deserved the break.

GFDuke 03-11-2010 04:19 AM

Thanks guys. It was a fun time. Pic cost me 20 sticks of Latinum. I forgot to bring my camera when i went golfing. But for alll the golfers out there this is the course i played. its a Robert Trent Jones course and is actually scheduled for its Grand opening in May. The place was immaculate. I would eat scrambled eggs off the fairways. They were that tight. The bunkers were deep and soft. There were no fried egg shots. If you hit a bunker you were burried.
I had a fair round and shot a 87 from the whites. But still i felt i did good considering i never played it.

PS the wife took some underwater pics with the waterproof camera while snorkeling in Xel-Ha and i'll get those up as soon as we get them back.

ReverendMaynard 03-11-2010 04:39 AM

great pics Duke. Nice to hear another golfer in the group :) 87 even from the white is impressive on a new course. I'll keep that place in mind when we book our next vacay.

Kal-EL 03-11-2010 05:49 AM

Very kool pics Duke, and you folks had a nice bit of sunshine there on a beautiful beach :)
Does it feel wierd walking around the ruins and knowing that a very long time ago people were being sacrificed to the sun god?

ocgmj 03-11-2010 05:52 AM

Great pics Dukester, Looks like you had a blast. :)

Yes it did Kal. I actually saw the tables where they did the sacrifices. A Very creepy/weird feeling comes about you.
This is where they did human sacrifices to the gods.
