EVGA SR-2 goes official

Also notice the re-branded Antec TPQ-1200w OC edition coming out with it ;) I guess that's why it never came to retail. I just wonder how much eVGA is going to have to mark it up to make money on it?

punx223 03-16-2010 07:24 AM

Hondacity 03-16-2010 07:35 AM

I am sure Rev .... Vantage and 06 Pwnage............

it would be viable if you could throw a couple of 920's in it ......

Not in the budget for this kid though ....

Think I would throw down for some 480's and a Guilfy before this.

But to think if I had an unlimited budget, it sure would be fun ....... :)

Assassin48 03-16-2010 08:31 AM

Can we step up to this from a 4-way ? LOL

I have no step up option :(

Chuchnit 03-16-2010 09:01 AM

Ok, enough jibber-jabber. Who's thinking about buying one of these after seeing the prices for the CPU's?

Witchdoctor 03-16-2010 09:04 AM

Sorry bro, the price of admission is so utterly rediculous that joking around about it is the only way to keep me from throwing up ................

Again we are back to the select few will get to test these bad asses out and dominate with them

Rinse and repeat

:ohcrap:

Absolutely. It's a server board.

Yes you can run a single CPU, but I think it still has to be a dual QPI xeon variant. At work right now or I would tell you for sure.Shamino posted the ins and outs at evga forums.

Assassin48 03-16-2010 09:14 AM

I found the FAQ and it has to be dual qpi even with single cpu

Unless someone wants to give me a cpu with dual qpi, I'm out lol
Quote:

FAQ of W555

You can run different models of Dual QPI Xeon together – such as 5520 + 5540, even Quad Core + Hexa Core together – but must be from same family – ie, NO for Westmere + Nehalem – Performance scaling is fine

You can run turbo mode on one CPU and non Turbo Mode on the other too

You can run a single CPU (Must be Dual QPI) in any one of the 2 sockets

You can run Non ECC normal DRAMs but also ECC Rams too

Dual QPI Xeon DRAM Multipliers/Uncore Multipliers are locked so you will only be able to use maximum 2:8 or 2:10 depending on segment of CPU

You can run 200 – 205MHz Baseclocks on air – 230+ needs LN2

Motherboard is 381mm width by 345mm length

Motherboard supports 4-way SLI on current GTX285/upcoming Flagship VGA

Motherboard supports 4-way Quad Fire

Motherboard will ship with typical 1366 Xeon socket back-plates but normal X58 socket back-plates will be bundled in package

Motherboard bundled with ECP V3 – Vcore Boosters + Speedfan 100% Click Boost + CPUs/PCIEs Disable

Power Consumption Tests:

2.8GHz x 2 @ 1.20v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 1x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 535w from AC socket

2.8GHz x 2 @ 1.20v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 4x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 991w from AC socket

4.0GHz x 2 @ 1.30v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 1x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 766w from AC socket
.
4.0GHz x 2 @ 1.30v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 4x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 1,243w from AC socket

4.2GHz x 2 @ 1.40v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 1x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 913w from AC socket

4.2GHz x 2 @ 1.40v w 24 threads Full Load + 12GB Rams + 4x GTX285 Classified Full Load = 1,390w from AC socket

ReverendMaynard 03-16-2010 09:24 AM

lol @ those power tests. We're moving backwards here.

Chuchnit 03-16-2010 09:26 AM

For evga's sake I sure hope the crunchers buy these things up. I just don't see enough benchers buying these to pay for the R&D :( eVGA is an awesome company and I hope this is a sucess in whatever fashion.

punx223 03-16-2010 09:31 AM

the board can run aon a single cpu, but still needsto be dual qpi chip.

the board will also run a WICKED wprime :ohcrap:

the board is actually quite reasonable when you consider the components and minor additional price over the E762....

and I am sorry but unfortunately you cannot step up to this board.

Nooooo, lol

ill pick it up once the chips go down in price.

EDIT*
I think ill just pass this completely till i get a good paying job or if i qualify for a small loan lol
The entire cost to run this system is too big for me.

DrNip 03-16-2010 10:21 AM

Very nice but still not digging the super record 2 name.

Wondering when the other next gen classy's are coming out? Looking forward to some sata 3 teamed up with that new micron corsair ssd. :D Hopefully they will have sata 3.

GFDuke 03-16-2010 11:30 AM
