Hey guys, just wanted to give u a status update :)

We just set a new world record for the intel i7-980x CPU @ 6.526GHz

Now we move on to WP1024 and SP32M

3dM06 and 3dM vantage to come aswell

I hope I ain't reading that the tiny little dewar that was in the camera's line of sight was the only LN2 you guys brought to the competition???? Didn't ASUS supply everyone with big a$$ 200 litre plus dewars ?? if not, then the competition could be seen to be illegit... if we don't come back today that is :laughing:

Seriously though, I was wondering that the whole time I watched ??? didn't seem to be any other source of LN2 that I could discern. They should've had a truck parked outside with direct feed lines LOL

they have 2 big dewars here, my guess it was 1 per day

They rationed it to like 60ltr per team I think

That explains it. Not enough for 2 rigs and cards. I use 55 L over a weekend by myself on 1 rig.

On the other hand, no need to look the gift horse in the mouth. Getting to play with awesome chips and unreleased boards with free LN2 is pretty darn cool.

OCA bought 870 and the other teams wanted some free cpu's but in the end they had to go buy them themselves

Alright guys we are going for 6.7 cpuz as its the only viable world record. We traded in a chip for the backup 980x which is a ES. Putting my 980x on the "Cherry picked" motherboard and Im going to hit up the ES for a while

We are on our last fill of the 30L


RIIIE is an amazing board and if we dont win one I will be buying one for sure. ROG connect is amazing/

what's the advantage of the others with the other benches? They got better vga's?

no not really, just ran out of ln2 going for wprimes and 32m and cpuz. Maybe too many benchmarks? imo cards wont even need subzero if they run 1000 core in quad

That's what I thought ; Asus set the exceptions too high, 10 benchmarks in 2 platforms in less then 18hrs is just crazy.

If only they gave the mobo before the comp. so the Ocier's could get use to it.

So how did we do today, whats the status? I had a 12 hour drive and couldnt check in, just got to el paso and in my hotel.

XS won both days. You finished in 2nd the 2nd day and 3rd the 1st day.

lol, looks like a lot of confusion about the winners, wasnt Day 1 winners announced at the venue itself??

I thought it went by total points for the event.

It was like Day 1 with hardware provided by Asus and Day 2 was Free Style where any hardware could have been used...

What a planning mess! Geez ustream and shitter oh I mean twitter and god knows what else was going on there and we can't even get a few little details about the competition. Geez ASUS your information flow is like your mobos pretty poor. He He! :D

I know very little on the outcome. Splave texted me last night and said that we would talk this morning. You guys will know when I know,...soon all will be rectified.
