Ok so here is my first few hours of playing with my new Galaxy GTX 480

3dmark 03, 05, 06 were done on XP with the 197.41 drivers.
The Vantage screen (total fail) was on Vista 64 with 197.03 beta drivers.
CPU was 6c6t, 5ghz, no HT

Max stable overclock on air was 875 core, 1050 mem (shaders are forced linked and were @ 1750) @ 1.025v.
I could have given it up to 1.125v with AB 1.6 beta, but didnt want to fry it on stock cooling the first day, and you can feel the heat radiating off this thing.

3dmark 03 - 108,828
3dmark 05 - 42,041
3dmark 06 - 33,898

Vantage was miserable, gpu score of 21233

Sorry Splave, I didnt have the cpu clocks for 01 or am3 and my poor SS was working hard today just to keep it @ 5ghz.

Ill get those on the ln2 session.

I must say that other than vantage, which has to be a driver thing, this card is a total monster.
Here's to hoping it scales like hell with cold, and that I can get some more V to it soon via unlocked AB or vmod.

Ok Ok Ill fire it back up and try to get some decent cpu clock out of the SS for 01 tonight. And Ill see what Cinebench will do as well :thumbsup:

No hurry on the Cinebench, just wouldn't mind seeing it even at stock brother :)

I dont have any way to tweak lod because riva doesnt work with the new drivers, but it wouldnt make that big a difference.

Its happening this afternoon, card is insulated, tek 666 and f1 mounted, ready to rock.

I smell global boints :D These 480's look like they can do some damage on the bot.

I just got the GTX470 and will do the Vmod today followed by a little visit at Splavster tomorrow for some hardware bashing. Here are some of my numbers on air. All win 7 64

Yeah I have to try this but the notes say that this version of Afterburner don't work yet with GTX470. Next one supposed to be able to control the GTX470. Anyway it doesn't look like they give you a lot of volts anyway. I checked the voltage on the GTX470 yesterday and it is around 0.980V stock.

Ok ln2 today, but I ran into a roadblock ... afterburner will only go to 912 core :(

It ran that at 1.1v and never broke a sweat, cpu @ 5.7 I got some good scores in 03, 05, and especially 06 (100 points from a world record :thumbsup: )

I ran out of ln2 before I could do anything else, pouring a 480 and 980x @ 5.7 sucks up a ton of cold juice.

Did you try the Galaxy tool. This is what I use to clock the 470.

Yeah it works on win 7, but I couldnt get it to run on my xp install?

Had to work out of town today, got back and mounted everything and the card survived the first session.

I was worried because its so humid here and the thing was solid ice when I left it last night lol.

Cant get ln2 until monday then its back to smashing boints with the monstah!!

Card is not volt modded, that was with 1.125v

got a good score in 06 to move back to 2nd, and 05 wasnt much better, need more cpu for that.

Today moved me to 825 points and #2 in the USA :D (however briefly lol)
