Back to Benching

hehe, I'm not talking about computers. I finally got my sorry, lazy arse back in the gym this morning. I did just enough to get me sore so I want to come back for more. Soreness is my favorite part about lifting. Usually how I get back into the gym by getting sore from doing some kind of work. Now it's time to diet hard, pull out my fat suit, and suck some of this damn weight off.

MaadDaawg 04-27-2010 05:07 AM

yeah, I used to lift every day, earlly in the morning. That muscle burn has such a nice feel to it don't it :) The, I got a little crazy and thought I was Ahnold one day and put too many plates on the bar and proceeded to do 3 sets of military presses. Back went out a day and a half later and I couldn't move for two weeks :(

be careful dude

LOL, been there, done that. Thought I popped my guts through my nuts one day doing deadlifts. My buddy kept putting plates on and Mr. Macho here wouldn't say no. Long story short, my back still bothers me to this day from doing deadlifts with him.

Hey have any of you guys ever worked out in a "fat suit"? I used to work out with just the bottoms on in the morning. I would usually loose about 2-3lbs of water in the morning workout, but man I felt like I had ran 5 miles. It was just like having the runners high after you take a nice cool shower. Actually I felt better wearing the pants for the morning workout than I did after our 45 minute run in the evening. :Dizzy:

MaadDaawg 04-27-2010 05:38 AM

lol I thought you meant your current wardrobe when you referred to the fat suit LOL

Yah my current wardrobe is a giant fat suit! LOL. I went from eating five clean meals a day, and working out 2-3 times a day to blah. So I consumed the same amount of food, but was too busy to eat healthy due to my schedule. On top of that I didn't have time to workout either. So that's just a double wammy on the shitty situation.

I guess the correct terminology is sauna suit or whatnot, but I always called them fat suits since fat people wear them to loose water weight. Oh and already skinny wrestlers too.

Dude I have been through USNC bootcamp and trained with a friend to prepare him for an MMA fight. Neither of those are as hard as P90X if you actually do the workouts. That shit is insane! I just loose interest in stuff like that. I really enjoy lifting.

Kal-EL 04-27-2010 08:19 AM

Ah, I forgot it was late April already, you got your workout in early this year eh Chuchnutterz?

it is mental. A few friends of mine have done two 90 day cycles with it at the most advanced level and they are ripped. Our regional police force uses it in training as well.

Way to go Chuchnit! I got my arse back in the gym last September just to have to quit 2 months ago due to my medical conditions. Felt good while it lasted though, lol. The trick now is staying with it.

Staying with it isn't a problem for the first few months granted I can keep my hours at the office where they are. My problem is that I get so darn into it that I burn myself out. I have the mindset that if it doesn't hurt, I'm a big pussy. Sometimes I go too hard without giving my body a week off. Then on top of diet I get real tired and totally burnt out. I'm gonna try and just keep it casual this time so I don't wear myself out.

I used to bring protein powder to work for two of my 8 daily meals  Got up at 0430 and lifted every day, different muscle groups each day. Got down to about 12% body fat, then... crippled ... now? ummm.. husky LOL

Actually sat on the universal machine yesterday though! huh.. it's a start dammit

What happend?

Neuromancer 04-27-2010 02:59 PM

Going from a PT nut to a vegetative state is not good at all. I try and just keep busy around the yard and stuff for my "exercise." Last time I tried doing pushups and crunches everyday, took a week before I was laid up for two :(

Was surprised how quickly the body remembers though. Thought I would be doing sets of 20 for a few days... jumped right up to sets of 50 by day 3. Now if I was stupid enough to try doing them again I would probably be winded at 20reps lol

Yuck. I used to drink so many protein shakes that I would prolly gag at the smell of muscle milk, muscletechn, or that other brand I used that was so cheap. Dpsnutrition.net FTMFW!!

Yes going from hardcore activity to nothing is almost worse than never doing anything. In all fairness a severe case of shin splints hampered me for a while. Then life grabbed me by the nuts and took my time away.

Splave 04-28-2010 03:07 AM

fellow lifters up in this bitch :)

I hit it hard about 5 days a week. Leg day squat till I puke, gotta get serious with the cardio again though. get it chuch!

Rofl @ Muscle Milk... Every time I see that stuff on the shelf I start laughing (insert phallic humor here).

My problem seems to be the opposite.... not doing anything makes me skinny.... I used to work out to gain mass, but the past to years have had me in the "fudge it" room. Never got in to supplements.... my diet consisted of high protein foods like canned tuna and chicken, which for some reason always looks and tastes the same. A little hotsauce fixed that right up.

My walk around weight is 155-165, and the biggest I ever got no matter what was 178... then I'd poop and lose 5lbs.... j/k.

I tried working out twice last year, and couldn't get into it again.... Tried running and felt retarded. Something tells me I'm going to need a health problem to get my ass in gear again. Big ups to ya' Chuck, pound those weights so you can challenge Splave to a wrastlin' match...

Yuck, leg day :P I usually skip those  I get sick everytime I do legs. Literally throw up. It could be due to the fact that I try and superset legs to get it over with.

Musclemilk is actually an ok protein shake, but its a little high in sugar and calories. I have to buy and drink low low calorie protein to be able to loose weight. Crap I can't remember the name of what I used to buy.

Oh I gotta get me some more crack-in-a-can. NO-Xplode. That stuff gets me so amped up that I gotta build my tolerence to it before taking a full dose. Otherwise I puke.

Oh and I have about ZERO wrestling skills. I gots a little bit of BJJ, but guys who wrestled growing up always gave me fits. Their base is just so darn strong. Plus I take it since Splig is from NY, he prolly wrestled since he was five, rofl. Plus he is a giant!!

DrNip 04-28-2010 04:04 AM

I was drinking BSN protein. About the only protein shake that tasted good to me. My problem wasn't trying to lose weight but gain weight as I weigh 155 when not working out and about 165 when working out.

Chuchnit 04-28-2010 04:22 AM

I think this is what I used to drink, but its been a very long time since I spent money on supplements. http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_on049.htm

Dam you guys are animals ...

My version of cardio is walking to the refrigerator to get a beer

My lifting is carrying the beer in from the car to the refrigerator.

Endurance is carry the recycleing bin down to the corner pick up.

Rinse and repeat
