When i read the title i thought you were going to give one away

I was like :O

Chuchnit 05-25-2010 01:51 AM

Looks like it would make a killer 24/7 rig.

Witchdoctor 05-25-2010 02:36 AM

Time will tell ...

UD5 is the best 24/7 board right now IMHO .....

EVGA would prolly clock a bit better but eff wise I beleive they have a ways to go ... but it is early oin the game and I have to beleive this is foremost on eVGA's mind

I am hoping they can over come this as they could dominate the market easily

Well a month ago I would agree with you, but I don't on moral with Gigabutt. For a year or so I've told gamers who asked me about hardware to get the UD5 though. Clock for clock is amazing.

MaadDaawg 05-25-2010 03:59 AM

EVGA has two models, with a $20 price difference. Nothing sticks out as being different, so, anyone know what it is?

Witchdoctor 05-25-2010 04:02 AM

I have not looked close at these yet, But I would say it is prolly just a few board features .....

or one has a fancier box and a manual that is actually helpful .............. LOL

Probably one has a lifetime warranty and the other a 3 year or so. Part number ending in AR should be lifetime and TR I think should be 3 years.

MaadDaawg 05-25-2010 04:34 AM

Cheaper one's a TR, the other one is a KR ??

Looks like KR is 3 year and TR is 2 year. Sad to see evga slowly going away from the lifetime warranty.

this is the regular x58 vanilla from evga..with usb3 and sata6,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, same vregs for cpu and ram....

Chuchnit 05-25-2010 11:13 AM

Vanilla X58 had digital pwm. Six phase I do believe.

Hondacity 05-25-2010 11:26 AM

Thought I was right for a second. Then I found this to prove me wrong.

only difference i see is the higher cpu pwm frequency 1333 vs 1067 i'm not sure if the latest bios changed that....

http://www.overclockersclub.com/revi...s/dsc00003.htm

oh yeah..the color too LOL

and yeah the x58 chipset...the old one is rev1 the latest ones are rev3..

i'm just not impressed with the cpu power circuit..heheheh

punx223 05-25-2010 12:39 PM

only boards that have digital PWM is classified.

the E758 and E768 have 8 phase analog

Well the gray/black looks 1000x better IMO. Honestly though, who needs uber PWM's for 24/7 rigs that only see 3dmarks at 24/7 stable overclocks? I have really come to the point that for a 24/7 gaming rig I wouldn't come close to the high end when buying a board. That quality money should be spent on hardware for proper usage. ;) I think this has a chance for a perfect daily driver board.

Hondacity 05-25-2010 01:50 PM

no doubt..i love the evga stability. the bios options are super. i love the 3yr warranty :D

You're confusing it with the 790i FTW Digital PWM edition.

Hax is cool bud. Actually he's managed to best most overclocks with a quad on his DFI. He's got that sucker dialed in.

So is evga gonna waist their time re-hashing the classified for SATA/USB3? I say skip it until it's part of the chipset. :)
