hey guys,
just wanted to add that we are aiming to put in about $13k in prizes.
there are 2 teams of 2 that may go to quakecon. 4 in total. each "TEAM" will get to take home the hardware they bench on currently we have:
2x Rampage III Formula
2x Crosshair IV Formula
2x GTX460
2x Intel 980x

This is for EACH TEAM so multiply that by 2
we are also working on getting more prizes in the pool once confirmed
2x SSD
2x Mem kits
2x 1200watt PSU
1x grand prize that is still TBD but well worth over $1000

Each team is roughly getting $6k in hardware that they get to keep plus an all trip expenses paid to the 2011 OC SUMMIT where you can win even MORE prizes.

Got to love ASUS! Doing something for the PEEPS!

Hondacity 07-27-2010 03:13 PM

i want winnar :))

Kal-EL 07-27-2010 03:23 PM

How come only the three yahoo's that went to the IIIxIII 2010 event are here posting? Damn sell outs! :P

Patch 07-27-2010 03:28 PM

I wouldn't mind being a sellout. But I'm expensive.......and no-ones ever made a bid.

Don't think I'll have time to actually bench for this, much less spare the time to go compete if I win.

But I might.....

Dewit! Maybe you can send an alternate in your stead, lol. :keeporder:

Hondacity 07-27-2010 08:29 PM

v2-v3 isn't and won't be competing in this event... he's with asus crew....

he's just helping out our team

as for me...i just talk alot ...

FACE 07-28-2010 01:30 AM

We have enough primo clockers here.... would be sick if OCA took all 4 slots and spanked that ass all over Quake....

I'm liking ASUS more and more. The things they do seem so much better than other manuf. events.... maybe because their not so jacked. Gotta love it.

Someone needs to call up Dent and tell him he has to go. :D

Hondacity 07-28-2010 01:54 AM

Dentlord

wake up you have to go and dominate

Witchdoctor 07-28-2010 03:53 AM

Joey = Bad day for the competition ........

But you may have a tough time prying that eVGA board from his cold dead hands .......

Hey H&R, check out the submission page there. For gits and shiggles, Splig and I posted the same scores....both 6.766s...his with a 655 and mine with the 670. My back-up at this point is a 6.656s. That's the best I could muster out of the Max3Formula this weekend. Gonna keep after it till its done.

Splave 08-02-2010 02:20 AM

throwing the 661 down today, should do 6.5, no more nonsense

Yeah I saw it! I was like WTF? I was abusing the good old E8700 before my mobo and the CPUs roll in today! I got a 655K (new) and a 670 (used but untested) coming my way! I'll have to learn quick as this is the first time I'll play with P55  I hope one of these chips will be a winner.

Dude I didnt realized that the comp is over already on Thursday. The entire time I had September 5th in my mind. :Dizzy: :ohcrap:

Splave 08-02-2010 11:17 AM

I know man lol! its all good we can still get together sometime

Had some condensation issues 6.4ghz would fail at 11th iteration. Testing last 655k tonight than going back to the others with more volts.

Hondacity 08-02-2010 11:55 AM

had 8-10 remounts....

5 cpus...

2 mobos...

zero condensation but mobo isn't cooperating...

12hrs worth of benching...

zero os problems...

coldbug problems...cbb wasn't a problem...

no sub7....sad

HITandRUN 08-02-2010 12:08 PM

I think 6.895 is the time to beat right now. :ohcrap:

Kal-EL 08-02-2010 12:47 PM

Mobo is good till 2.03 volts so far.

FACE 08-02-2010 12:50 PM

Wierd Honda, @ 6.3ghz it should be an easy slide into sub 7 territory. Are you using an SSD or something? sp1M runs much slower on SSD's. Those timings are sick too man at 666.

Did you install the OS with both sticks installed or just one?

Cuz I just found that out today, I switched out my Intel Super Fast $800 SSD for a Velociraptor and went from a best 12.391s 1m time to a 11.875s 1M time. Same stock tweaked settings. Co-incidence? I think not.

Also, I couldnt do any pcie mhz past 110mhz with the SSD, I can now do up to 118mhz on the pci-e with the velociraptor. My efficiency went way up.

Any other theories why the big difference?

sofos1990 08-03-2010 12:35 AM

Kal-EL is right :D

SSDs are slower for 2Ds . Better run 1M and 32M on raptors :D

GFDuke 08-03-2010 12:56 AM

Kal.. did you disable Disk Indexing on your ssd? Or should i say what tweaks did you do to your ssd? Page file, LSC, etc. I'm interested in this theory and i want to dig a little deeper into it.

Kal-EL 08-03-2010 01:13 AM

I didn't mess with disk indexing, I did LSC and without, page file on ssd as well. Its pretty much before/after results with exact same settings.

Tried all the usual stuff, batt, power, stick, re-mount, holy water, salt over shoulder.

Kal-EL 08-03-2010 01:22 AM

Any clues on how to get past a cmos error?

Hum I guess I'll give the old Raptor a try again! Thank you for the heads up!

Splave 08-03-2010 02:59 AM

this is very strange, rom and I are using ssd's for 6.6's in the 6.3ghz area?
Im on vertex1 30gb, rev09 XP no maxmem no lsc, only theme cycling.

Hondacity 08-03-2010 03:11 AM

ok will try the stuff recommended...i'll have time to buy another 25liters later....

thanks everybody

Actually doods, I am on a 150gb Vrap with a 30gb partition. I didn't use any tweaks except cycling tho. Single channel ram raises my speed, but lowers my score....same as priority and affinity tweaks. gl

Splave 08-03-2010 03:47 AM

why did I think you were on a vertex2 ?

RomDominance 08-03-2010 03:52 AM

I only have one 60gb V2, but that has my main 32bit win7 install on it for benchin.
I like using a conventional drive for xp benchin, less chance of corruption after a bazillion blue screens.

Splave 08-03-2010 04:18 AM

boot takes 5 seconds though which is nice ;)

Hondacity 08-03-2010 05:43 AM

ok harddrive..question

under sata configuration..you guys use ide or ahcp(ahci) ????...its not raid...though you have 3 options...just wanting to make sure of that...
