Almost There
My Man Cave, aka the MaadDaawg's Lab or a Tory is physically setup. Got all the racks and tools and such setup today (and the A/C). Tomorrow the 3 benching rigs go downstairs :)
Still have to run at least one if not two more circuits though so that may take the better part of the day. Won't be long though and I'll FINALLY be able to bench again :clapping: |
:picmonster: <-- Gotta feed him!
|
LOL
Wow... Lab or a Tory. I had to read that twice I thought you were advocating British sympathizers in colonial America ;) hee hee |
Need to feed the pic monster. :picmonster:
|
I think this is one of those blog threads where he logs in and posts a snippit of whats going on at home and then never updates the thread. I have a collection of them saved up already. Gonna put them all together one day for him to see it ;)
|
Say it ain't so daawg.
|
Say which part ain't so ???
I'll feed the pic monster as soon as my right hand will function again. Carrying and dragging too much shit around yesteday:blink: Okay, took 5 or 6 showing the bare beginnings (more or less). Went upstairs to use the compact card reader and IT'S GONE  (suspects are estrogen factories known for needing to keep everything "clean") Now I'll have to jury rig the internal one I got to work on the air cooled 980 so I can send em. Maybe take a few more first though :P |

Okay, prelimenary pics to feed the beast.
First one, I don't think I announced, but Kal was looking for lights and shit when I posted the new 980x cooler, so I thought I'd put it a pic of the newly refurbished BattleStar. pretty much the same specs as the original except this one as the tri sli 285 iso the 280s, the water cooled e759 mobo, 965EE under water, Dual DD Dual bay resvs w/ dual D5 pumps, and slower 1866 6gb ram. The nacelles (2 x Feser shrouded Quads with running lites) are now horizontal in front of the main battleunit. This bad boy sits about 6ft up in the air on top of a credenza... fun lifiting that steal case full of water and copper up there :P PS, this is staying upstairs as my gamer and 24/7 rig I"ll try and get a pic of the side at night w/o a flash... puuurty |

Don't show the outer room but I"m thinking of putting my bench tools on there for year round wood working fun - or, maybe my guitar and amps,... don't know yet.
First shot is distant shot of the main airlock door into the sanctuary where no estrogen may pass (unless it's bearer is NAKED :D) 2nd shot from far corner. Noite still need to put up shelves over workbench 3rd shot is is from other corner 4th shot is storage space and more tools Mirrors on the walls because this was going to be my workout room 10 years ago.... Since taking the pics I've moved the SS down on an elf cart, now, I've got to run another line into the room for the SS so I don't blow any circuits while running the rigs with the SS. I"m thinking the LN2 Dewar should fit nicely into the closet :) English basement half underground so stays cool all year round (COLD in winter win windows open and AC on) MOre to come |
you got one nice looking house wish mine looked like that :(
is that the man cave ? |
Sick looking room ...... where's the OCA banners ? :ohcrap:
looking good Daawg .......... cough... cough mini fridge ..... |
Thanks bro -
Yep this is the site where the MAN CAVE is being put together as we speak lol The basement was one big empty room when we bought the house and I build this little appartment for my daughter for college use. Room next to this one is my old "fish room" where I bred Angelfish and stuff. |

true, but mine has gotten bad. I can't find shit, and I barely have enough room to move around. Clean up is scheduled in the late fall for winter domination.

Mine will be the same soon Face, that's the beauty of it !!!:muaha:
SOME MORE PICS  Finally have all the electical I need, but now I need to add holes to the benches to accommodate lighting. Also need to run the wiring and mount it attractively on the walls and or ceiling  First pic is basically the view walking into the door. You can see an orange extension cable sneaking in next to the AC. That will be dedicated to the SS and probalby not used alllll that often. The other window is filled with my power solution :D The SS is on a rolling "Elf" cart with wire baskets to hold varying periphinalia (spelling??). It can roll behind and in front of each table so I can set it up anywhere, although my original plan is to do most of the benching on the table nearest the windows and AC. To guard against any electircal issues, I've got a surge protector plugged into the wall, a TRIPP Lite APS (automatic power supply) powered by a HUGE Gel Cell Marine Battery, finally connected to my APS X1500 current controller. I originally bought the Tripp Lite and Battery to make sure none of my very valuable fish (I had about 6K in tropical fish at the time) died in the event of a power failure. The Tripp Lite and the Battery were about 1K to buy  I was originally going to put one rig on each bench, but figured that would be pretty stupid, so, I dedicated a 3 shelf unit to the monitor and my accessory carriers |

a few MORE pics :P
First pic shows what will be the main benching table. What with the main power and the AC right there figured it was a natural. AC comes in just to the right around ceiling level. Old style case contains the old ASUS mobo with the AMD K6-2 I found while cleaning up a little. On the benching table my 762 X58 rig in need of reinsulation, insulation of the GTX 480, and getting rid of the Noctua HSF :P Next up is the P55 Classy all decked out with a 670 and F1 standards. This babies never been frozen yet, but that status won't last much longer :D Finally, the ASUS REX board I picked up on e-bay with an e8600 in the socket. Once it's insulated I'll try the SS first and go from there. Have a couple more CPUs for this one too - one thanks to Buckeye :) In the background is my main work bench and my main tool chest |

COUPLE MORE, THEN - BEDTIME ... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Most of this has been seen in other pics, and, of course I had to insert the Battlestar :P I'm keeping my pots in one wire baskets on the shelfs over the work bench, with the basket on the other side holding my meters and EVbot. Software in the middle with accessories and my giant eraser ball in the center on top. will bring down the dewar tomorrow after getting it filled :D Then, the mess will begin ..... ;) |
Awesome! I've been missing some really cool stuff around here!

You can find them cheaper. That was just a quick search. I bet you can find them for $50 or less at a Spencer's or something. Especially this time of year with Halloween coming.
|
You mean those are not called mad scientist lab lights? No wonder I could never find them :p
Sweet looking digs Dawg. You are making me think about rebuilding the shed :) couple 10AWG romexs should handle a PC or two :) |
