  1. If you submit the highest-frequency overclock on either CPU, you’ll win a Core i7-980X processor, an Intel DX58SO motherboard, and two Intel X25-M SSDs to build a quick little RAID 0 array with.
  2. If your submission falls into second or third place, you’ll win a Core i7-980X processor and DX58SO motherboard.
  3. If you’re fourth through 24th (the next 20 highest entrants), you’ll win two cases of Talking Rain Sparkling ICE water to tide you over until it gets a little cooler outside (hey, it’s still in the 90s down here in Southern California). That's 24 winners total.

kikicoco1334 09-09-2010 03:21 PM

hmm... seems really FUN!

Neuromancer 09-09-2010 03:36 PM

K series is a 1156 extreme chip right?

HITandRUN 09-09-2010 04:18 PM

Im in! I pushed my 665K to 6665Mhz before. I think this is the highest clock in the US right now. :good:

DrNip 09-09-2010 11:45 PM

Too bad don't have a pot. :( Prolly only open to retail CPU's anyways.

Chuchnit 09-10-2010 03:47 AM

hmmm $209 investment for well a ton of money for first place. Now that's what I'm talking about!! Finally a contest where you could still come ahead after buying the ln2!!

Of course the 4U2doLn2 contest has that same appeal. ;)

Witchdoctor 09-10-2010 04:54 AM

No K series here ..... :ohcrap:

Kal-EL 09-10-2010 07:00 AM

Kryptonite Series Chips, they.............must.............be.............. ..DESTROYED!

got word on steponz 7g?

HITandRUN 10-10-2010 02:38 AM

Not yet! Chris the dood running the show had a kid last weekend so he had very little time to check the rankings etc. I'm sure steppy is first with the 7G since the contest was only for US.

DrNip 10-10-2010 02:42 AM

What a contest. IMO poorly executed.

Yeah there was no leader board or anything and this was a little annoying also we still waiting for the results a week later. I mean how many submissions was there over 6.5G. I bet you not that many.

Dentlord 10-11-2010 12:14 PM

I guess my 6860 came in 4th :(

I don't really want water, especially since I have to fill out a form with my ssn to receive it??

I fail :(

Say what? I received an email saying that I was 4th as well! Something stinks here! Can you post this email? Looks like everybody gets the 4th place and no one the 980x? :keeporder: I wonder if steppy is 4th as well with his 7G submission?
