Mountain Mods Cases
Any of you guy's using one of those? I was looking at them today and they seem to have plenty of room to get whatever you want inside... even a lot of WC'ing equipment if need be. If anyone has one how do you like it?
I saw some pics in their image gallery but none really seemed to get a real good look at what was inside. |

I had a duality for a while. The new Ascension series looks very nice. I would like to try one with a horizontal mb tray this time though.

extended U2 UFO case
I was sent this case with the Asus R3E MB about a week before the MB came out..Seems my Asus kin want pics ...I had a IOH heat issue with the first MB and sent it back...I took the MB apart and still couldn't get away from the 85c range on the IOH so I am building this with the new one...
This is the plain brushed alum. extended U2-UFO MM case....( I would like it in navy Blue) Most of our top notch team need no case but my neices Husband (the Asus Guy) wanted this after the summit and I am a hardware Junkie... I slapped together a 24 x 18 wood box with wheels for this instead of using casters that came with the case..My Bulldog wasn't really sure as he watched this for 3 days...LOL Here was the start: http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...2189/001-2.jpg This is the first Horizontal MB I have ever used.. MM makes a really great case for your gamer or emailer... In this I used: Asus Rampage III Extreme 980X retail Asus EAH5870 SS ST-1500 PSU Corsair Dom. 1866 7-8-7-20 ram 2 x WD V 600 Raptors 3 coolermaster 110 cfm rad fans 3 Thermalright 2000 silent fans 3 Antec 2000 Back fans Feser 360 X-Changer rad and shrouds Alphacool AP-1510 adjustable pump 2 x samsung DVD WR Koolance CPU-360 Block Alphacool Repack reservoir http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...de2189/004.jpg The back: One really great thing with MM is room to spare and also there is a art about there cases.... The new R3E has no IOH heat issue... http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...2189/006-1.jpg This case came with all acrylic sides...Even my Mom helped pitch in to finish this on mothers day... The downside if any is the many screws per side... The upside is with all sides attached I have cool running.... http://i420.photobucket.com/albums/p...2189/008-1.jpg |
Nice looking case. Looks like it needs fish.
And nice pants. |
ioh issue gone? what is the temps on the new r3e?
|

The temps are running around 35-40 at 3.9..I am using the extra fan thingy they sent with the MB... Before it would run 90 with the stock one and 85 with the extra one even after I took the MB apart and reseated everything as HR did.. I think there was a issue with the NB itself because I could see no warp..... |
your moms cool  mines on the crazy side also shes just 62 i think, but shes a school teacher Pre-K so i think shes just a big kid sometimes lol
but i also like some of there cases but the cost kills it for me |
hmmm did they put a thicker pad underneat the ioh?
from intel..... ioh tdp 24w ioh max temp 100c |

I just put on the extra heatsink and fan...But on the upside it is a 40-50C improvement. You could be correct about a change in pads...I was in a bit of a hurry because pics were wanted of the case and i had sit on it for 2 weeks...I used the first R3E in my lian li cube.... side note: My mom was holding wires for me why I tied things off and at the end she looked at me and ask... Now what does this thing do exactly:laughing: |
