clarkdale with gulftown efficiency @ sp1m

http://hwbot.org/community/submissio...55k_6sec_234ms

can someone explain this? this is just crazy...

DrNip 09-29-2010 10:49 AM

One bad mofo. There are several non Gulftown chips within the mix. Looks normal to me unless I am missing something.

Splave 09-29-2010 11:02 AM

must be the fast ram

not normal....in anyway...

look at gautams...rams...970 6-7-6 .....this is @ 6.7ghz..

look at dinos gulftown 6.5ghz run...

aristidis rams are at 1000mhz 7-7-6

and e-killer have 6.7ghz ...

something is good is brewing....i wonder who peter-san is...

Chuchnit 09-29-2010 02:09 PM

Gyrock is Japanese man. They are the OG super pi kings. You can also thank them for finding such tweaks as maxmem and most importantly copy-waza.

Hondacity 09-29-2010 02:18 PM

yep they're the best....but its weird that their efficiency is gulftown level....which wasn't possible last time i know....

DrNip 09-29-2010 03:50 PM

Believe my friend. Wish I was a fly on the wall sometimes. Would have been on his wall.

Hondacity 09-29-2010 03:55 PM

i think peter-san he mentioned is shammy...i wonder if he's got something to do with the efficiency..

Patch 09-29-2010 03:56 PM

I gave them some tips. Glad to see it helped.

I just wish I could remember what those tips were so I could use em for my own runs......

DOM 09-29-2010 09:34 PM

has anyone looked at there team 8 and lowest is ranked 15 worldwide :Dizzy:

Splave 09-30-2010 05:24 AM

yeah they are blatant hw sharers
http://hwbot.org/community/team/team...2d&teamId=2449

But i dont care whatever, if its not all just one guy that is

Hondacity 09-30-2010 05:38 AM

i don't think they share 3d wise...

about their cpu...i think they are able to bin...akihabara district is just an stone throw away from intel's factory..

also intel japan i think are supporting them...

about their efficiency...they do share OS....

this topic though is a breakthru...i'll message the gyrock maybe he'll share his story...about this 2core gulftown..

Splave 09-30-2010 05:42 AM

so them all having a 6.6ghz+ superpi is just luck where we have twice the people buying twice the shit and 1 of us has that?

Hondacity 09-30-2010 05:54 AM

we could talk about the hardware sharing on another thread.... lets stay on topic about the 2core gulftown...

anyways i'l see if i can duplicate this sp1m @ 6ghz....and compare it to some 6ghz gulftwon sp1m result...

Splave 09-30-2010 07:56 AM

it must be bugged or something, he has a higher speed submission that is a lot slower with a different chip

Hondacity 09-30-2010 07:58 AM

yeah i was thinking if its bugged....coz i know these damn clarkdales can't do gulftown efficiencies....i'll still try 6ghz...its fun lol

Hondacity 10-06-2010 10:41 PM

bump for crio / kzee / dread

you guys know something about this freak efficiency? its very gulftown like....everybody needs to know :D

heheheh

dread77 10-06-2010 11:18 PM

Looks OK to me... It's all about high QPI Link Frequency in those Clarkdales, not many mobos can hadle high CPU Freq + high QPI Link Freq along with proper ram dividers.

Maxmem is a bit weird though and probably that's his special tweak for this run.
Check Real/Available Memory in his run...

not sure what the list is for..but gyrocks sp1m is weird..compared to all of those...

Honda, I don't have the experience with 655k, but isn't it more efficient in super pi because of the ability to optimize ram mhz on the 2:10? I know when I was playing with the 670, the difference in time was retarded when I ran 2:10 vs 2:8 at ~same mhz all around. Several seconds.....

all 1156 chips running sub 6.5seconds in the 6.5 - 6.7GHz range...

His might be bugged, it is more efficient than the other guys... but they all do pretty good.

kikicoco1334 10-07-2010 09:49 AM

the ram is stupid fast and the guy is japanese put 2 and 2 together bad shit happens
but naw for real tho
7-7-5-20 that's really fast right?
and the chip he was getting 2V+ on it

Hondacity 10-07-2010 09:51 AM

the rams aren't that tight.....the qpi isn't that high...but you got me going with 2v..maybe that pushes the cpu to clock more efficiently....

QPI don't need to be high for 1m. Well not like 32m high. Go look at other high i5 QPI.

Hondacity 10-07-2010 05:27 PM

i got my cpu 5ghz qpi....it certainly helps....
