IHS [Q]uestion
 

just real quick...
i was just looking around on google...
just wanna do something for my video card.. i've got the GTX260 216core
it runs really hot like stupid hot so i was wonder if i should remove the IHS?
i monna be keep on using the stock if not the zalman cooler
my card is made by PNY
i just really wanna do something to it. so i put painter's type on it just so i have something to do... :D

but naw for real..
should i removing the IHS?
my card it's running around 49~55C that's with around 10~15% OCed and with fan setting 100% at all time

55C load temps on air is normal...

how long or how much LN2 to do i need for like a hr or two session on LN2 with the 356 just cpuz... maybe 1M to 32M SP?

i ran a 32 SPI but never saved it and it was really good!
like yeah i just flat out never saved computer was working and everything but just never [Ctrl]+[P]!

Thats the one I have and you can get it from china for ~$23 shipped last I looked.

Mine only reads down to -135C so fine for DIce not so good for LN2.

I might try getting some better probes for mine as well. The ones that come with it are pretty cheap.

EDIT: NM They went up to $25 shipped. If you have ebay bucks or something it might be cheaper to get the other one

btw my video card DOSE NOT run at 55C that's only on idle! load it's around 80+
i just got around running 3d 05 somehow can't get 06 to work.. idk it's giving me an error..


but yeah core is at 666 linked and mem is at 13** and 80+ is it hot or what?

what card do you have ? some may say its normal but i never had a card run that hot just the ati cards that been the hottest for me :P

but do you got good air flow ?

the error is about OpenAL

have you tuend up the fan speed ?

and try reinstalling it

i think i monna try down clock a little and then try again
if that dosn't work i monna just take it 100% a part and reclean and maybe add some heatsink on it =)

btw should i get some of those low profile heatsink and attach them on the memory on the video card or should i just leave it as is..

also i got my ram at 7-7-7-20 48 1T now :thumbsup:

i would just re-tim it and clean out the hs if its dirty

dont think the hs on the mem are going to help much.

i just redid the voltage on the cpu and somehow fixed it :Dizzy:
like it dosn't run as hot anymore... wtf?

i changed the voltage from 1.39** to 1.4 :shock:

and room temp is 78F it's not too bad after having a projector on for like 4 hrs
