Hey guys Im not MR.Safety by any means (either is romdom after we got flipped off at quakecon for not wearing safety glasses) but just a reminder that dry ice and ln2 are pretty serious and once in a while you just need to be reminded and think about it a bit. You use it a bunch of times and get complacent and thats when accidents happen.

Also not just ln2 but torches as well, I know we have all been burnt before :laughing: but just keep the torch in a safe spot where you arent going to back into it. Doesnt really need to be said but it does :eek:

ummm... we ARE all using torches with the trigger on/off aren't we? Better to back into hot metal than a live flame :gun12:

I zorched my finger last night lol idiot move warming the turbo base in my hand with the torch so the tape for the probe would stick. My finger was up right on the side of it and it got flammed for a hole second on full blast mapp action. It charred the hole tip of my middle finger BLACK and I have no feeling in it atm I was freakin out lol

Paper towels can catch fire too that are wrapped around pot. LOL

I actually strap a papertowerl across the top of the pot and purposefully burn a hole in the center and blow it out when its made a hole to pour thru. :thumbsup:

I can't wait to LN2 all the time. Tired of the smell of acetone and the shat it can do to wood work. It can screw some shat up quick. Be careful with it around hard wood floors.

Got permanent tingling on the very tip of a pinky finger from frostbite.

Please don't do the whole "LN2 in the mouth and spit it out thing". Guess what happens if you involuntarily swallow a little?

When the fluid instantaneously expands to gas you don't burp or fart it out. It tears through your tissue planes. If you know that, but risk it anyway, that's natural selection. But if you see Hicookie do it and think it's just a fun game, then it's pretty sad when you die trying it.

Dude I fill my thermos one handed and use the other hand to slam a beer while the torch is burning safely placed behind my belt! Have no clue what you taking about! :thumbsup:

k yeah so last night i was just clocking with that f1ee...
then when i was taking it off the setup i accordantly lift my finger on the pot too long.. yeah that copper part of the pot (inside) and i couldn't feel my finger for a little bit

I started off my first LN2 session wearing ski gloves, both to transfer the LN2 from my dewar to my *not Thermos type coffee cup. After first pour, I wore one glove to hold the cup. By the time my cup was completely frosted over inside and out (not a vaccum seal cup but a plastic liner in an aluminum shell) I was wearing no gloves. Never tried glasses, or wearing long pants or shoes lol

all i gotta say is that LN2s are FUN! :thumbsup:

I have to say though that in summer once I was wearing nothing but swim shorts and while pouring into the thermos I overfilled a bit and a little drip hit the ground and touched my toe. I tell you a nice freeze burn I got from that. :D

I had mini drops hit my arm during pouring, left no marks though just stung a bit.

If you want to hear the opinion of an expert on the effects of liters of LN2 impact on your body you can ask Crusty.
I gave him a thorough LN2 bath last year at ADW2009 :D

Be careful out there! LN2 can be dangerous, don't get sloppy using it and never bench "under the influence" :green9::crazytongue:
