Chiller's Hybrid SR-2 in Level 11 mod
Hi guys, fellow OCers.
Here is show you my build i'm working on now that is for 24/7, if this one is ready, the OC starts again after almost a year no overclocking. Dropped from 570 to 372points ggrrr I'm from belgium and i'm crazy about Extreem OC and making some custom stuff. Hardware what will come in this rig is : 2x Xeon X5550 Evga SR-2 mobo Evga SR-2 1200w psu 3x Evga GTX580 superclocked Ocz RevodriveX2 240gb Corsair Dominator GT 2000Mhz cl9 12Gb kit's Level 10 case and some crazy stuf.... This build is made possible by and thanks to Evga Taiwan http://i40.tinypic.com/2kg4rt.jpg Thermaltake Taiwan http://i40.tinypic.com/34qwlxl.jpg Angelbird Austria http://i43.tinypic.com/ax1754.jpg Aquatuning Germany http://www.aquatuning.de/bilder/banner/468x60_eng.gif Xtreme Case Mods Australia http://i56.tinypic.com/2ijmfky.jpg IT-Service Belgium http://i56.tinypic.com/14w6oli.jpg Cooler Master Benelux http://i55.tinypic.com/302p7bq.jpg Zetix Belgium http://i56.tinypic.com/2qnd0ux.jpg Here are some pics of my rig now : http://i53.tinypic.com/2dgor45.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/2wdy4og.jpg And this is how the case is on this moment, also fitted a 16x2 red/black lcd above the Boreas chiller. Also you see now how hidden the ATX24pin really is, pure cable management with the 90° connectors : http://i51.tinypic.com/rjkuwk.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/w191mo.jpg http://i52.tinypic.com/2dub31u.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/1217cdu.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/105edqh.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/200xnoz.jpg http://i56.tinypic.com/2qamqdl.jpg Total overview of the case how he's now. Most of the cables are on/in it : audio, usb, powerswitch, hdd led, power led, reset, reset led, debug lcd, 2 sata, all atx and pci kabels. Evga PSU is also on his place together with the dual bay psu in front : http://i52.tinypic.com/2hfqmj6.jpg overview of mobo with all cables on it : http://i55.tinypic.com/ivwqrr.jpg Also i have made a cable for the EVbot connection in the mobo IO-Shield, so the connection will be in the front plate, where it's easier to acces to hook up the EVbot : http://i51.tinypic.com/34yrbs0.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/r2m2s8.jpg Total overview of the current cables in the case lols, but they are not all the cables yet, and need also some controllers to put there (coolit, koolance, poweruse) : http://i54.tinypic.com/35n2g4w.jpg |
Just realized this is one of the rigs entered over at the Coolit contest lol. Had this have been finished you most certainly would have won it hands down. Very nice detail and outlandish performance will certainly ensue! Can't wait to see the performance data on this...keep us posted! :good:
Btw, do you intend to cool both cpu's with the Boreas and are you using the stock pump? |
the boreas is not the only one that's in there.
there also comes a Freezone Elite and a Freezone V1 in this case. I will make a pic with all coolers in there. Pumps will be the stock pumps, if they are not good i swap them for Koolance pmp400 with heatsink kit on. Normally i whanted to have 3 coolit pumps in there, i will be happy if i get 2 pumps in it lol. |
I have two Boreas atm...one for bench work that still uses the stock pump and the other being used for the 24/7/Gamer which uses this pump...http://www.performance-pcs.com/catal...ducts_id=25392
They both do about the same as far as I can tell except the stock pump is slightly noisier. |
what cools better? the stock pump or aftermarket pump on the coolit coolers ?
Here are some pics with all coolers on there place, now you see also why i make the 90° connectors on the mobo : http://i55.tinypic.com/15817pk.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/scxocy.jpg Here you see, with fittings and all, i calculated just enough space for cpu block etc : http://i55.tinypic.com/24fco7a.jpg and this is why i made those 90° connectors, so maximum on cable management : http://i51.tinypic.com/2eultti.jpg And here is my youtube channel, so you can see the case in 3d : http://www.youtube.com/user/BabySkylineS14 |
No difference in temps between either pump and aftermarket waterblocks have little effect as well...those stock blocks are double fugly tho arent they? :taunt:
Don't let MD see this...he will surely have to have one! :D |
who's MD ?
I noticed temp difference with an HT3.0 and koolance 360 block against the stock vcoolit block. but pumps i don't know, that's what i whanted to know. i have 4 coolit pumps..... |
:welcome: Chiller and your crazy awesome build :D
|
thanks, it's also a nice forum hihihi :good:
|

yes i can kick massman behind, i did it already in dec 2009, then i was first of belgium and 49th of the world.
he was not happy with it, from then on of i was operated in hospital, other prioritys etc, so benching was small last year but next year i'm going for it again. |
SO SEXY!
|
i happy you've recovered.... again team oca welcome you back. now get back to work with those cables! :D
|
was working on those cables all day already lol.
now next attension is making the Classified Mounting for the 360 blocks and some other fine stuff |
Beautiful work Chill,:good: hope your mobo stays operational bro.
|
what do you mean with : stays operational ?
|
We kill all types of equipment here on an almost daily basis...including allot of motherboards. Your mobo is buried within a beautiful install and I was just saying I hope it works correctly for you for a very long time.;)
|
i hope so to lol
|
Nice! Welcome to the forum bro. :clapping:
|
thanks :)
|

Looks good, I can't wait to see the finished job :) |

oh nice!
more pixs |
Wow. Maybe instead of sleeving your cables next time replace them with some flat ribbon style wiring like the old Ultra PSUs used to do.
Been wanting to do that myself for wire management. But I do not have time for mods. |
thanks for the tip and compliments
|
You have quite the task ahead of you on wiring that. lol
|
SSssssttttt :ohcrap:
|
I cut up an Evga ECP Panel for building it in the front of my case.
little soldering, and i will have a EVbot connecting in front, a DEBUG lcd, Clear CMOS switch and switches for disable PciE and cpu's. This will be build in a Lian-Li slim-drive Bracket where together with a slot-in dvd drive also can go two SSD harddrives in it : i cut the ECP Panel up because you see always mods with just the ECP Panel screwed in the case, now i change this to my own taste. http://i55.tinypic.com/jgm8tu.jpg Here is the Lain-Li slim dvd drive bracket, (bought in usa) Here you see how i build in all the different switches, lcd en connectors, these will come behind a grey smoke acryl plate : http://i54.tinypic.com/2ewh7gx.jpg Clear CMOS with his tiny hole : http://i51.tinypic.com/2hpjghk.jpg Total overview of the case : http://i52.tinypic.com/16byfs7.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/25islf4.jpg http://i54.tinypic.com/25g4f3s.jpg In the case it's still dark, but also on the graphics cards will come nice mods etc......: http://i56.tinypic.com/142c8iu.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/98sqp3.jpg http://i51.tinypic.com/2vhyk2v.jpg http://i55.tinypic.com/v656wz.jpg http://i53.tinypic.com/119w0vb.jpg |
That's so detailed it makes my head hurt...:D
|

All my mods are performance, or about hiding the PC entirely. Never aesthetics. that said... Put some polish on that and submit it to MDPC :) Clear winner for sure. Most of those rigs are "look I cut a squille design it and added $5 Water cooling attachments. Wicked slick mod man. Looks WAY better than the original L10 IMHO.. Just needs a once over on the body, fresh coat of wax so to speak :) and the right lighting environment . Photography is 1% camera 99% lighting :) I never saw this coming from your original pics over at coolit. Wow. |

Don't know if this build is good enough for million dollar pc ??? I build this rig for performance, but because i needed to adjust this case for a bigger mobo, SR-2, the looks came also, performance is also what i whanted, therefore three coolers of coolit in it what are a little adjusted and cools better now. Got the looks, got the performance with two cpu's X5550 on sub-ambient temps 24/7, and still the overal size of a Level10 case, i can go to a lan party with it lol |
Ya ever figure out that wiring job? :D
|
offcourse, i know every cable and wire i made lol, it's not so bad with those cables
|
Amazing custom modding. Nice work.
