been wondering
so just right before i go to bed ...
i was on the bot just looking around and saw this x68 chipset is coming out and seems like it's another 1156 socket set, sandy chips are the hottest newest and it's also 1156, is that mean they are killing the 1366 and moving on to something newer/higher? like 2011? cuz i don't see anything about 1366 news http://hwbot.org/article/newsflash/9..._rumours_start |
its 1155....
|
1155?!
hmmm... so are they changing all the current chips? and is 990x still coming out or they are gonna hold back on that? |
|
its new ...
|
X68 should be 1365 socket and P67 will be 1155 socket. To answer your question, it does appear that they will be killing the 1366 socket. When? Dunno. I don't see it being anytime real soon.

From what I have read it is to based on Sandy Bridge and have quad pumped memory but locked bclk .... early rumors are saying multi Ocing may be it for this archetecture
first octo cores for 16 thread luvin ....... whole new bar for primes ftw Have not had the time to do any in depth look at it though ..... One thing is for sure, I will have me one of these octo beasts ..... Prolly not riding the 1155 train |
1155 is the new sandy-bridge socket scheduled for January 5th release. The 1366 is here to stay at least until Q3 2010. I mean the new 990X is coming out on the 1366 and I assume they will milk this thing for a while.

no doubt .... X68 third quarter 2011 .......
|
im sure we will see 990x and maybe even 995x
|
i really hate to replace everything when i just got my setup up done, or close to being done....
