Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD5 + i7 2600K After going back and forth and back and forth between x58 and P67 I've decided to go Sandy Bridge P67. Unfortunately I can't afford to play the 980x/990x 1k chip game or multi high end GPUs to keep up with the big boys. Also have no access to LN2 to make the best of these extreme chips anyway. So on a semi-limited budget and with DICE as my only option for extreme cooling I figure Sandy Bridge will be a good fit for me. Initial Setup: CPU #1: i7 2600k Batch# L040B705 (sold) CPU #2: i7 2600k Batch# L041C106 #0815 CPU #3: i7 2600k Batch# L045A912 #2417 Water Block: Koolance CPU-360 Mobo: GA-P67A-UD5 Ram: Super-Talent 2000Mhz CL7 PSU: Antec TPQ-1200 1200W GPU: :D (On Water) SSD: OCZ Vertex 60Gb http://www.gigabyte.com/fileupload/p.../3647/3672.jpg The Benchmarks: 2D CPU-z Validation #1 CPU-z Validation #2 MSI 5770 Hawk Evga 8800gt512 Sapphire 4670 OCM  |

Nice going man. Looking forward to your results. Hopefully you get lucky on the chip snag :) |
|
Thanks Mang :wt: Looking forward to learning this new setup. Didn't go with a higher end board due to the seemingly limited OC potential of the p67 chipset. Plus I won't be benching more than 2 gpus in CrossFire/SLI anyway. Can't wait to see what the z68 chipset brings to the table :leghump: OCM  |

Good luck mang. Those Gigabyte P67 boards are mighty smexy. I'm tempted to get a UD5/7 when I file my taxes. |

 GIT-R-DONE!! |

Man you guys get shafted hard on shipping times in HI. Maybe since it is soon 2011 they could drop the canoe service and go with something more modern? I know Kal gets next day air so he can have the part in 3-4 days. :( I can't wait till you get a CPU. |

looks fun but isnt max multi 57 and max bclk 106ish? max for a max of 6ghz ish |

If I had the money to buy. I would wait a month or so and see if anyone comes out with a board that adds its own multipliers that can increase BCLK ability. From an serious overclockers point of view. For just having the best new toys. You can't beat 5 GHz on air for desktop/gamer OC play machine :) |
|
The reason some guys can air bench at almost 5.5Ghz (on Intels Burrage mobo) and others at only 4.8-5.2Ghz (on Asus, Gigabyte, mobos ect) is due to a setting thats only available on the Intel P67 boards at the moment. Its called "Internal PLL voltage Override". Hopefully all OEM Motherboards will have this feature via a bios update upon official release. OCM  |
|
Slight change of plan. After reading a few reviews I've decided to only pick up a 2600K for now. OCM  |
