Had some time today and thought I would get some tools out and do some prep work for an inpending build.

Wanted to go small form factor but ultimantly decided to go full ATX ....
This was the smallest AXT case I could find that I liked.

Specs:
Case = Lian Li AO5NB Mini ATX
Power = Antec TPQ1000
CPU = Intel 2600K
CPU Cooler = Corsair H70 closed loop
Motherboard = Still not decided with the chip set debacel (Leaning towards UD7 ATM)
Memory = G.Skill Ripjaws 2133 7-10-7-24
Video = 2x eVGA 580 vinilla's
Sound = Creative Xfi Pro
Win 7 64 drive = 60GB OCZ Vertex 2
Win XP drive = 74Gb raptor
Game drive = 80 GBIntel SSD
Boneyard drive = WD Black 640


Had some fun playing with power tools today ..... :laughing:
Through some handles and a couple intake fans in the top

Chuch, They will roll 220 CFM into the the case as intake air, Roughly enough air to heat or cool 14' x 20' room with two windows ........ :laughing:

Neuro, Yes down firing intake This case it is the only logical way to cool it

I used to have a down firing system that was really efective back in the day, so thought I would roll with it again ....

Rediculous that Asus did not address that on their flagship board ...

both boards are bad ass though .... was looking at the Marshall but pricing with Lucid willl be insane, will MSI ever figure out it is crap ???

Got my board today, it is Teh sex

hard to get excited though as the past month has been filled with snags
first the chipset issue to start, it is all downhill from here. went with the M4E as it was the first one availible on my short list. Don't regret it as if it preforms half as good as it looks it will ultimantly be win

that being said my new PS does not fit, worse yet it seems I will not get close to what I paid for it in the open market.

today I went to install the CPU cooler and discovered I left the back plate on the B2 board I RMA'd

went up to the local hardware store to get a solution to mount the cooler and got poped for speeding ... $ 158.00 fine and 4 points .... Guess I should not have told him the joke Rick sent ....... :laughing:

That took a half an hour so when I got there it was closed

Bought a CPU pot and now the seller is not returning PM's after promising to send it directly after Cebit ... over on the 5th I beleive ???

Hoping he just did not check his PMs yet, so hope it is all good, seems likea stand up guy.

And the real kicker is the firm I have do my taxes called today and siad I O in $ 2500.00

So needless to say I am having a tough month here, MOM was a refreshing and a great honer, but have to think Bone head of the year would be more fitting.

So I am totally broke, on the edge of losing my liscence, not able to go cold and to top it off can't complete my build .... :ohcrap:


The good news here though is things simply have to get better, there is no where else to go but up :laughing:

So tommorow when you wake up remeber, what ever happens at least your not me :rofl

I am not a fan of the layout, rATX would be better IMHO, but I would be surprised if your changes were not effective :) Could be very nice. Although dusty.

Here a few pics, Hardware store = WIN for CPU mounting. Actually like this set up better than the factory mounting hardware. Seems like I got a better feel with the spring action compared to boottoming out factory screws

What Silverstone PSU is that mang? I know it's high watt to run your 580's. It's really short though.

i would guess the SILVERSTONE ST1000-P 1000W ATX the 750-850-1000w show to be the same size on newegg Dimensions 6.30" x 5.91" x 3.38"
