Corsair Dominator Gt CMG6GX3M3A2000C8
Hello
So far i can overclock there babies only at 1600 8-8-8-24 2t stable,i have tried the xmp profile at asus rampage 3 extreme but after some benches, games etc the blue screen of death always appears. Do you have any experience with those babied and what timings and mhz you have achieved to have it stable ? :) |
Update : It seems i can get them stable at 7-7-7-24 2t 1880mhz with 1.65 voltage and 1.60 at QPi. I have pass test with memtest even at 2005mhz but if i stress it a lot with linx im getting blue screen.
What its weird is that after the blue screen my cpu is at 76c and im for a reason that why i have the blue screen and not from memories hmm Still trying to figure out whats the exact problem |
That qpi is much to high, if anything try 1.75 on the vdimms.
|
I asked corsair and said 1.60 at QPI and 1.65 voltage.
How much qpi should i give im not sure some said 1.35 others lower than that,as for vdimms you mean to give 1.75 instead of 1.65 hmm isnt too much ? Im trying to find out if its the memories or the cpu temperature that cause the blue screen because as i said the memtest is ok |
Try bumping vdimm in small increments to say 1.72 if anything. The IMC on the chip is probably screeming when you run linx which may lead to degradation of the chip. Are you tryin to get benchmark stable (super pi 1m and 32m, pifast, wprimes) or going for 24/7 stable?
|
I want 1st to find my settings for 24/7 stable as higher i can go from ram side and then i can play with the rest for better benchmark results than that.
|
Possibility of overstressing that chip using linx to push to tits end of 24/7 stability. Try seeing if it scales with vdimm in increments. Can you list all your votlages?
|
As soon as i go home i will take a picture of bios
|
prime95, linx, aida64, all these stressmarks, use them as a tool, not a rule ;)

Here is my bios
|
Test settings sent via msn, Spank will report back later :)
|
Good luck bro ........... :)
Rip them Dom's up ............. |
Kal send me some test setting but i couldnt even boot because of the @$ qpi.He told me to set it at 1.35 but R2E the lowest can go is 1.82 wtf.
Even in auto cant boot only if i set at 1.60v i can boot with no problem.Anyway after some tests the best combination that works stable is the ram at 1880mhz and timings 7-7-7-24 2t |
Actually it was the cpu pll to be set at 1.4 but lowest it could go was 1.82. I think that 975 is like 2chesapeakes that needed all the qpi voltage.
|
Yes the cpu ppl :P

Every time i set my memory at 1866,1880 even at 2000 i pass the memtest 10 times with no problem at all,but at those speeds i may need to lower my overclock at 975 for the memories to work.
Btw at what timings you set your memories ? for me it seems to work the 7-7-7-24 2t. |
I was running my Gskill Perfect Storms 2000Mhz 8-8-8-21-1T with 88tRFC. What type of temps are you hitting on the CPU and cores.
|
On the cpu 4.3ghz i have 40-43 idle per core and at full load benchmarks, games etc about 66 70c

Its temp of the cores based on coretemp im using for temperatures
|
Have you tried running the CPU at stock clocks and running the memory at the desired settings?
|
Yes i have no problem at all at cpu stock settings and memory on xmp 2000mhz
|
At what clocks do the problems start. You may need to slowly bump up the OC on your CPU and see when the problems start to occur.

A small Update after playing with bios
23x 187 bclk 1.318 vcore and my memory at 1864mhz 8-8-8-24 2t 1.65v 1.60qpi After 10 run at intel burn and everything seems stable no bsod and also 30min at prime32 |
Problem in setting the 12G Dominator CMG6GX3M3A2000C8 to 2000mHZ
Hi everyone,
Using the ET6 i manage to OC my CPU easily at 4.16GHz, but with the ram at 1600mHz only. Can anyone help me to crack this problem, as im a newbie to OC........... :Dizzy: Intel Core i7 975 Extreme Edition 3.3GHz|Cooler Master V10 processor cooler|Gigabytes GA-X58A-UD7|Cosair Dominator GT 12GB DDR3-1333 8-8-8-24|PowerColor 5970 2GB|Creative X-Fi Titanium-Fatal1ty|Seagate Barracuda XT 2TBx2|Thermaltake Tough Power series 1500W|Coolermaster Cosmo S 1000| |
don't use XMP, but set the ram as specs manual.
also put the specs of timing manual in bios and voltage to 1.66v. Then maybe only need to adjust the QPI/VTT voltage for stability as how hard you're uncore goes. Normally QPI volt is somewhere between 1.3 to 1.4 , maybe 1.45v max if you don't OC to much |
what happens when you increase the ram or CPU speed? Any difference if you only use one stick of RAM at a time? Try one stick in each DIMM slot to rule out mobo issues. Could be an IMC issue too, do you have another chip you could swap in?
