Probrably not for long with that entry but we know you'll be back.

Checking a few things here and getting it ready to go.

HybridChiller 05-01-2011 07:35 AM

and what socket you're submitting?

If like for lga1366 are 2 team members who have 1st and 2th place, will that count for team 18points? or only best submit?

I have a dual 370 server sitting here. Dual Pentium III 1.4 GHz.

One of my customers was upgading their servers and was going to throw it out, I never fired it up cause it's all PW protected.

Where's Stepponz !!

What's it all bios pw protected?

69_Goat 05-03-2011 06:14 PM

I had a so-called tech guy look at it when I first got it and he told me the bios had a pw set.

I just hooked it up and there is no pw. SOB lied to me.

It's just not entering the OS. I think some of the drives are missing.

According to the boot screens, it looks like there should be 4 SCSI drives, (2 in raid 0, and 2 in raid 5, I think) but there is only 1 installed.

Socket 462/Socket A is what I have.
Haven't had time to do anything yet but I'll get around to it soon and start tweaking things. ;)

GO OCA!

Google 2003 to workstation guide. It will tell you how to get 2003 setup for desktop usage like enabling DX and such :)

69_Goat 05-09-2011 08:01 PM

Finally got XP Pro installed, and the thing will run WP32 in 67 sec.

Problem is, I can't get a SS of it.

I can open the first instance of CPU-Z OK, but when I try to open anything else, like the second CPU-Z or paint, the thing locks up tighter than hell. I have to hold the power button til it dies.

Any ideas or suggestions ??

Neuromancer 05-10-2011 03:55 AM

I doubt it would work, but try running mutli file locations?

Or wait longer before you open the second instance, the DLL might still be chugging on the first one.

Change memory usage from programs to cache, then run WP.;)
You'll also have less of a chance of lockup when getting your SS.

Bones 05-18-2011 04:02 PM

Got the top spot in 462 ATM and you'd better believe I have backups waiting. I'll also try and see if I can get more from it this weekend for kicks but need to improvise a way to have better than air cooling since the board has no holes for mounting anything.

Maybe I'll get lucky and cook something up, maybe I'll cook up some CPU chips....

HybridChiller 05-18-2011 06:15 PM

put an airco on the air coolers ? :p

Bones 05-22-2011 05:27 AM

I have an idea - Just need to figure it out, set it up and give it a try. I don't have a way to get AC'ed air to the chips but if I could, that would help. What I'm thinking about would be better though if it works.

Most everything else is good, board temps are on target with no issues there.

kikicoco1334 05-28-2011 05:27 PM

well boys! we have 16 boints on that little sucker!
Stage 1 370 - ranked 3rd
Stage 2 462 -
Stage 3 940 -
Stage 4 1366 - ranked 4th
Stage 5 604 - ranked 4th
Stage 6 1207 (F) -

dose anyone on our team have any of the sockets that 's still empty?
cuz that's extra 17 boints even comes ni last on the list as up to now

and i jsut realized that how all the ones our team benched are Intels non of the amd are benched :P

Bones 05-28-2011 07:01 PM

Man, you're doing really well in this.
All I can say is keep trying and maybe you'll place in one of the top spots before all is said and done. If I can hold 1st in what I have, I'll be happy with my measly 10 boints. Had to use a backup since I got bumped but no prob to take care of - Luckily it wasn't one of my really good ones.
I'll post what I need to towards the end of it and I'm still looking to go a little faster.

kikicoco1334 05-28-2011 08:29 PM

the only prob is i can't seem to get clockgen or setfsb to work on my server and that and the one that dose work with those two software don't work with the cpu

going over to my friend's and see if i can get that chip to work in his server

HybridChiller 05-28-2011 10:21 PM

i hate amd, only use intel ,

i have a better time then i posted with socket 1366,

from 3.322s to 3.233s, but no place higher

good man! intel only here as well!

for real tho beating your own high score it's most this is about! i mean beating others are good too but when you beat your self over and over you know you are improving and that makes me happy too

nice work tho

Bones 05-29-2011 09:13 AM

Nothing wrong with that!

Don't stop until it's all over guys.
