WTF!! BITCOIN MINING

I'v already reallocated all of my Folding@Home resources :) earning me about $76.42 per day. I have not calculated power consumption yet its time to get more Kill-A-Watts although the extension cords are nice and warm :D
Next I will be bringing online the Folding@Work farm!!!!!!

EDIT:
Quote:

BitCoins are a Currency for an internet economy they can be mined by using the processor and graphics cards ability to calculate mathematical "proofs" or create a "Bitcoin" with each Bitcoin worth *$9.30USD compensation is good. However a massive amount of computational power is required to find a Bitcoin. The best way to acquire coins is to build a PC with multiple AMD graphics cards for example One AMD ATi Radeon HD 6970 graphics card can can generate *$400.00 worth of BitCoins in about one month. To start join a Mining Pool like BitClockers.com, they offer daily payouts and monthly prizes. When you recieve Bitcoins you can Sell them at an exchange or use them anywhere accepted.

so your getting pays to fold ?

MaadDaawg 05-26-2011 05:01 AM

Does this work with only ATI cards? I read the instructins for the Phoenix miner and that's all that was mentioned?

Are you mining both with your CPU and GPU? If so, which miner are you using?

kikicoco1334 05-26-2011 08:36 AM

dude! very nice!

Kal-EL 05-26-2011 10:19 AM

I read the site but still......wtf is this about?

V2-V3 05-26-2011 11:35 AM

How do you like my RACK?
http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g9...ket_38728_.jpg
its full of GPU's :)

Witchdoctor 05-26-2011 11:36 AM

Damm dude, the power consumption has to out weight the pay :Dizzy:

how are you controlling temps in that room .... ?

cost of power is currently consuming 13% of the income. The cost of hardware is the biggest expense and takes about a month or 2 to pay off.
but if you have lots of hardware laying around like me PUT IT TO USE!
to keep the room cool I have a package Air Conditioning unit on the roo. it used to stay cool when CPU's were doing work loads but these damn GPU's are crazy!!!! To the left I have to keep the door Open :)

I am running the Pheonix miner on both ATi and NVIDIA GPU's. The ATi 5870+ and 6970+ series cards are about 4x faster than an NVIDIA GTX 580...

At the moment I am not using the CPU as a CPU is about 100 times slower than an ATi GPU.

Witchdoctor 05-26-2011 12:10 PM

Wow, not to bad, is the cooling consumption buil;t into the 13% figure

I have a ton of shit laying around, including some 4 and 5 series ATI cards ...

Rolling with the 580's these days for gaming ....

Random Thought ???? Why does Hawaii have interstate highways?

I have not considered the cooling from the package unit, this time of year it is normally running 24/7 till winter.

If you have spare cards laying around buid up a couple 4 GPU systems and see what u can bring in in a week. Otherwise I could take those 5 series cards off your hands :)

Witchdoctor 05-27-2011 12:33 AM

Think I will take some time this weekend and read up.

Would be nice to make few bucks here and there on some hardware just collecting dust ....

Neuromancer 05-27-2011 04:54 AM

Awesome.

I have neither the hardware nor the cooling.

winter time would be great for this though, get paid to run your heater :)

rickss69 05-27-2011 07:12 AM

This could potentially pay for my folding activities which would satisfy me...more research is needed on my part.

Exactly, Im leaving most of my NVIDIA hardware to the F@H and any ATi equipment will be paying off the hardware and power bill :)

For those interested I posted up a Step by Step Guide on how to get started: http://bitclockers.com/forums/index.php?topic=3.0

wow vv! that's like my house with better hardware!!!
nice setup bro

GeorgeStorm 06-01-2011 04:23 AM

Since I'm selling some cards due to money shortages.
Am left with a 4870X2, might aswell get it doing this (is there any point with just the one card?)
And would I need 1 or 2 miner clients since it's a dual gpu card?

I will be adding a few more 4U racks and filling every 4U with 4x 5870's or 4x 5970's
ThermalTake package came from ThermalClause:

Im going to need and electrician to wire up a damn sub panel for this bad boy

I say YES good sir!

Your 4870X2 is paid for and has no upfront cost for you to Mine with so here are the results after 1 month :D

Time Frame 1 Month @ 200Mhash/s @ $9.60 (USD) per (BTC) Bitcoin
Revenue per time frame: 135.87 USD
Revenue minus power costs: 127.10 USD
Net profit first time frame: 127.10 USD

lol thats 4870x2 might just pay for a tank of LN2 :D

not bad for old hardware laying around

For the 4870X2 you will need to install AMD's "APP SDK" package
"AMD Parallel Processing Software Developers Kit"

GeorgeStorm 06-02-2011 02:50 AM

Just tried setting it up, getting around 50Mhash/s per core of the gpu, and getting quiet a few rejected, about 50/50 atm. Card is at stock, temps are <80 degrees.
Any ideas?

I have a 4870 that runs 90Mhash with a little OC and it uses some command switches or on GUIMiner "Extra Flags" to optimize the Mining client.

The 4870 is not on it yet but will be soon.
You could try playing with adding and removing flags and increasing and decreasing the value
Here are some flags:
-k
phatk
VECTORS
BFI_INT
AGGRESSION=10
worksize=256
FASTLOOP=off

Neuromancer 06-02-2011 03:55 PM

Any idea whata 6850 would pull? I checked out hte calculator and I couldnt change the video card.

Interesting idea.. if it nets me $100 with a 4.3GHz 2600 sandyB... I would say it mets out i my favor. once the blocks drop to 25 (soon) that halves income. and income is purely based on on an arbitrary value that is being inflated by bitcoin users.

Having said that..

What the hell is it really? My PC is cranking out hash values to get coins.. umm. What are they actually computing?

Free money for CPU cycles and I have no clue what they are actually doing?

kikicoco1334 06-02-2011 05:08 PM

dude my u4 servers are just chilling on the ground lol i have a really bad felling something bad is gonna happen to it lol

and 2u's are just chilling on top of the 4u

Splave 06-03-2011 03:28 AM

if you are bitcoining the terrorists have already won...jk jk

Any help with setting up multiple random GPU's on a single board. IE

1x4850 1x6970 1x4850 on same board

reflex99 06-03-2011 04:39 PM

I wrote a guide a while back on OCN. It got deleted/trolled to hell by mods, and eventually got deleted by those trolls.

Then i moved it to my blog here:

A 6850 can do upwards of 250Mhash/s and at current market price of *18.00USD per bitcoin...
Revenue per 1 month time frame: 316.79 USD
Revenue minus power costs: 305.83 USD
Net profit per 1 month time frame: 305.83 USD

Blocks will not drop to 25 coins till 2012 or when 250,000 has been reached (currently only 126,000 have been generated in 2 years)

on a side not ALL currency value is inflated by its users.... unless it is backed by something like Gold or other precious Fixed commodity

Your PC is generating MD5 hashes for an AES 256bit encrypted "block" in an attempt to generate a mathematical proof of a blocks existence

You need to run the same series together and cant mix them because of driver support, the 4xxx, 5xxx, 6xxx cards all use different AMD APP SDK versions and prevent the driver from working if you mix generations...

But you can run your 2X4850 on same board, and the 6970 on a diff.

I didn't know this. I've only ever tried it with 6XXX cards. Interesting.

6970 at 960/1400 was averaging 405 Mh/s what would that equate to a month?

with the last price increase and bitcoins not at $30+ each your looking at about $650 per month :D

Splave 06-09-2011 03:39 AM

holy shiot lol

DOM 06-10-2011 04:58 AM

okay i did it like on your utube vid 8800gts 512mb is getting around 38 Mhash/s i think that sucks dont it

cards oced 800/1100 :P

Splave 06-10-2011 06:59 AM

nvidia is the suck for this ;) ATI 4*** and newer ftw

DOM 06-10-2011 07:06 AM

running a 4870 now i hate the stock cooler it, this loads it more then games have to run fan @ 60% lol

Splave 06-10-2011 07:12 AM

yeah, thats should be fine man :) IMO not worth the stress on a sandy for the 5-10mh/s you get while loading it 100% for cpu mining.

DOM 06-10-2011 07:21 AM

yeah tryed it on the q6600 and tryed the gpu at the same time both where low

kind of wish i got the 6970 lightning over the MSI N570GTX Twin Frozr III PE/OC yesterday

DOM 06-10-2011 09:08 AM

so how do you know when to cash out ?

im avg. like 105 now with the 4870 how much is that per day ?

time for work :P
