I saw that too, and if you think that is the way to go, let's go for it and I'll send ya the $$ to cover it.
thanks Bro ~md |
10/4 I will order it up today ....
Got the wiring back together and fired it up, running fine... next I will throw some nitrogen in it to track down the leak........... if it turns up nothing I will fill it with refrigerant and use a sniffer to find it |

Scotty, it's a matter of protocol. Would you ever say "hi Jim" to Captain Kirk?? Of course not, you'd call him Captain :D
Better yet, would you say "Hi Clark" to Superman in a crowded elevator ? |

GOOD NEWS
Hooked up the SS today (finally) to my MIVE with the 2600K.
Idled at approx -44.1 and lowest it dropped in 3DM05 was -42.6 Not too shabby :D Thanks WD  |
not too shabby, what voltage and freq?
|
w00t! nice MD :)

Wonder how it would work with a 980x? good thing I gots plenty of eraser  |
^thats way too much voltage for 5.1ghz
should be doable at 1.4ish on ss |
SS dosn't stand a chance against a 980x imo. Stick with the SB.
|
yeah I was using 1.575 at 5.5 GHz :) Dont think I needed that much, think it was the DDR ref voltages causing freezing
|
My chip takes 1.65 to do 5532 mhz..............
My other can only do 5450 but at 1.51 .... I agree with Duke ss and 980 = not going to cut it |

I think I just got lucky and got a fraked chip :morpheus:
|
Yeah, most SS handle about 300w of heat.. gulftowns get much higher than that, more like the 500w range for worthy clocks. You can watch a SS fail by having it's cold side get to warm and bug out and not be able to cool the wattage. Bloomfields don't do too bad on SS either, but you've a SB.

lol ........... no my 55 multi chip is just beaten down ..... Possibly on it's way out unfortunatly .......... :ohcrap: |
