HybridChiller 10-02-2011 06:53 PM

and now a benchrig to abuse some cpu's and vga's lol.

hope you didn't sold you're msi lightning card.

badeendje 10-02-2011 10:51 PM

Yep its gone. The card was a demo card from MSI.
They used it for demonstrations with LN2 and i didnt know that.
I purchased it as new.So i went back to the store and all hell broke loose.

The card is nothing else then a normal 580.
Its a beautifull thing when you are playing with LN2 but not on water.

Then its 100% the same.

If i am lucky i will have a gainward gtx 580 tomorrow.
There will come a seccond 580 soon and maby a third.

But first a new mobo and cpu

BIG NEWS!!!!

Peerke is the new member :D

BIG NEWS!!!!

Peerke is the new member :D

Watch out what you say Peerke, those Lightnings do very good clocks on air to,
thanks to the clean power the GPU gets.

And welcome to the team, and let's bench together. :D

badeendje 10-03-2011 12:51 AM

We are going to bench like crazy!! :D

Trust me that the lightning is the same as a normal 580.
Only the switches on the back are great with LN2.

The rest is the same.

MaadDaawg 10-03-2011 04:10 AM

I've never had a Big Bang mobo, but, you'll notice no one else here has one either (I think ) Just a little food for thought :D

badeendje 10-03-2011 07:47 AM

I dont know what kind of mobo and cpu to get.

Give me some tips please.
I want to use 3 of 4 GPU's

kikicoco1334 10-03-2011 08:06 AM

super welcome to the team bro!

HybridChiller 10-03-2011 09:19 AM

kikicoco1334 10-03-2011 09:49 AM

so aka it's fast and sexy its like a red zr1

badeendje 10-04-2011 06:52 AM

Sorry people if i am not active at this time on HWBot.

I must complete rebuild my pc en reinstall it.
If that is done i will be active again.

I hope i can visit HibridC soon so we can OC together and make big scores!!

kikicoco1334 10-04-2011 09:22 AM

dude you all good!
cant speak for the others but i am only peak active most the time, cuz i am still in school and all that good stuff, but hopping to be more active after college if i don't go straight to grad school or hell

i am rebuilding my bench rig as well here
not gonna be as nice as some of the guys here's but it's gonna be not too bad

badeendje 10-04-2011 10:29 AM

I am not building a benchrig.

The system i use is the "normal" family computer.

My wife and son uses it as well.Thats why everything must be safe.

MaadDaawg 10-04-2011 10:54 AM

Dude, I'd strongly suggest you come up with some "reason" why you need your own computer and give the wife and kids a nice quiet safe rig to use.

You don't want them screwing with your rig, god knows what they'll put on it (or in it)

Neuromancer 10-04-2011 01:20 PM

Welcome!

Great specs, and I agree, get them a cheap PC for websurfing. :)

my friend, overkill are underrated!
EVEN I KNOW THAT AMERICAN SAYIN! AND I AM CHINESE :clapping:

yeah i totally agree, give the wife and the kinds some rig they can relay on, and you play on something that's FUN!

like my mom and dad are using my old rig but it's one of those rigs i never pushed hard on
and my gamer/ht server is kind of a rig i just play hard work hard system
and my bench rig is the ones where i just abuse it like a sum'bitch

there is another sayin, don't sh!t where you eat! :good:

MaadDaawg 10-05-2011 04:18 AM

lol ... don't shit where you eat .... lol

Wouldn't have thought to put that into that conversation, but, wtf, guess it fits :wtfsign:

Really, to do benching that's any fun at all, you've got to tune the OS and the hardware to just below breaking point. Not the kind of machine that's good for a wife or children ... they'd hate you in no time cause of all the BSODs

Besides, you'd have to eventually teach them all how to pour LN2 w/o blowing anything up  Don't know about your wife, but mine wants nothing to do with that sort of shit

Go to best buy and get them some cheapo $300 computers, and then build yours to your specs

If she won't go along with you, insure the "family" computer is constantly blowing up whenever she uses it :muaha: THAT should change her mind :D

Kal-EL 10-05-2011 04:56 AM

I gave my wife and kids some folder paper and pencils for their computing needs :P

they still make those things?

but yeah MD is right get them like a cheap cheap little thing, or build them an Atom 525 setup if they don't to a lot with it

badeendje 10-05-2011 08:34 AM

Maby i will do that.

If you all like me and all sponsor me hahahha.

Today i fitted my Inwin PSU.
That thing is BIG!!!

But its in.
Tomorrow my new card is comming.A watercooled Gainward GTX580.
Then i am going to look for a 2nd and 3rd.Maby 4th and then BENCHING!! :D

I am thinking to get this rig if i am going to use the pc as a benchrig:
http://highflow.nl/behuizingen/coole...est-bench.html

Or this one:
http://highflow.nl/behuizingen/lian-...nch-black.html

Don't know what kind of mobo to get.

I think i am going to wait for the 2011 CPU's but that is not sure.

BTW if someone wants to add me on msn: pm.pieters@telfort.nl
Add me and lets talk.

MaadDaawg 10-05-2011 08:44 AM

Didn't even know CM made a bench, but couldn't really see it well enuf. The Lian Li is nice just make sure you don't buy anything bigger than an ATX mobo.

My favorite
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/miba101clmoc.html

These work well also
http://www.sidewindercomputers.com/hisppctopdes.html

Unfortunately, they cost more :argh:

badeendje 10-05-2011 11:41 AM

My first choice was a XL ATX mobo.

A MSI bigbang Marshal.

I want to use 3 or 4 gpu's.

With my gene-z the gpu's are very close together and they are getting warm. Not hot.

With the marshal i got 8 pci-e slots. So the space between the cards is bigger.
But some people told me not to pick that mobo.

Dont know why not but Asus Maximus IV Extreme is better.

Witchdoctor 10-05-2011 12:11 PM

If you are going big budget wait for x79

It will be here soon enough

Neuromancer 10-05-2011 03:14 PM

Make your own bench for $20 and an hour of time :) It will fit any size mobo you want then.

A bench station supports your video cards though.

Plus I have handles in mine to make it easier to carry.

If u bulid it you have to add it and I would just use eraser if the card tilted to far to one side

The mb is already laying flat on the table unless Ur house is not level you should be good LOL

But I have a bench rack it ended up being my main case cuz it had handles and was small :)

HybridChiller 10-06-2011 06:19 PM

sunday i'm going to badeendje his home, let's see what he got for benching :ohcrap:

psu check
vga no check
cpu check
