From Benchspace to GPU storage
As a couple of you know, we've moved out of my very small apartment and into military housing. Since we'll be doing another tour here in Hawaii and have another baby on the way we decided it was time for more space.
Took a small storage area in the garage and converted it into a project/bench area. A place I can call my own :) With a few pieces of scrap 2x4s, a pre-cut piece of plywood from Home Depot and Whala... I introduce to you, "Benchspace" http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...-48-50_590.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...-22-56_161.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...-22-23_766.jpg http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/r...4-21-10_25.jpg Looking at building a shelf in a similar fashion 3-4 feet above the desk. Other than that its pretty much done. Well, except for getting my grubby hands on hardware and finding the time to bench again  OCM  |

Looks good shipmate. GL with your new tour. You shore duty again? or we aint going to see 6 months outta the year?
Oh, you might want to poly that, I find it helps on cleaning up the dust. straight stained wood holds onto to it for dear life. Poly coated you can run a dust cloth over it from time to time. also solder just pops off then as well :) I did the 6'x2' shelf over my 6'x2' desk too. Works GREAT.. definite must have. Would suggest that for anyone, bencher or not. Just moved into my new place 2 days ago so will be setting up the garage soon. (Desk is up but still has boxes all over it). hoping things progress smoothly over the next couple of months. finally got a space where I can get a 160L dewar rental  |
Wow, I haven't posted in the thread in a year and a half. Where did time go.....
