Still in the building mode. Pics should give end game away though :D

Going to require 3 circuits. 1 for each PSU and one for the SS. Should be interesting

Better question would be, has anybody ever had to use one, other than myself? :D

Just finished wiring the 3rd circuit into the room. All three within plug in range now :D

finishing up the tweaking on air tonight (below) and then the quad sli and SS get mounted tomorrow :)

Nope, only got 1 slim and 1 fatboy - anyone got two or 3 slims I could borrow?

Witchdoctor 02-05-2012 06:59 AM

I would bench it as is, looks to be a total PITA to tear that all down

just throw the rad out the window, in Chicago it will be as good as a chiller .....

Actually, it's a piece of cake to tear down. The HS is just sitting on the CPU with the fans tilted over the SS mounts. Then it's an easy take out the Ti and ...

Been unusually warm around here.. still cold enuf to make a diff on a rad, but not at all the weather we usually get. I'm afraid winter's gonna hit around mid march and last till June :P

Witchdoctor 02-05-2012 10:35 AM

Well then

Fill that 50 liter up &

MaadDaawg 02-06-2012 03:54 AM

no man, SS first. Not sure about the sb-E, but the SB didn't do anything more on LN2 than it did on air. Figure SS should be a good place to start :D After I finish the quad sli runs I'll plant my 580 Lightning with the fatboy bolted to it onto the rig and then get the dewar filled

Coming down to the wire

Finally finished with the OS and now transitioning to the horsepower. Just updated the firmware on the OC Key and loaded new BIOS yesterday.

Have the SS hooked up.. nice and silent machine now all I gotta do is gently drop the 20lbs or so of quad sli into their slots and get ready to rock and roll. Probably today unless I get some work to do :D

Oh yeah... the waterblocks on the cards passed their 24 minute leak test  24 hours my butt:moon:

Witchdoctor 02-06-2012 06:52 AM

This is simply a Vantage & Whore

Nice work Daawg.............

DOM 02-06-2012 08:36 AM

looking good :)

and what are you talking about leak test i didnt even do one on my 7970

Well, in all honesty, I don't think mine lasted 24 minutes either.. just fit into the narative  I DID however learn the almost hard way to always leak test before putting power to the board. Lots of little puddles that day, but no damage

Quad Sli slipped in like a hand into a glove, or, a foot into a sock if you prefer.

One minor problem... need extensions for the power cords from PSU2 to the cards... fortunately, I've got em ;) somewhere

kikicoco1334 02-06-2012 10:34 AM

dude that's some sexy stuff there!

Thank you Kiki :)

Good news is I found the extensions for the six pin cables. Bad news is I couldn't find the 8 pin (think I sold them with the Thermaltake they came with).

Good news is, I did a little rearranging and got the cables to fit

In these pics everything is setup and connected. Now, I gotta remove all the power cords to the 3 cards on the left and use that PSU to fill and bleed the loop. Since that will get me to around when the wife comes home, looks like zero hour will be sometime tomorrow morning :D

Damn, hope it works as good as it looks

Witchdoctor 02-06-2012 12:41 PM

tell me this is not your 24/7 ride ...........

DOM 02-06-2012 01:05 PM

Can't wait

punx223 02-06-2012 01:35 PM

pretty sick dude.... yeah SB-E does not scale past -80C in most cases....

you will get to a temp where performance will actually decrease and even sorta stall but you have a slow mode switch on the board that as long as you have LN2 mode enabled will keep you from freezing during unloaded parts of benchmark :)

thebanik 02-07-2012 02:31 AM

Wow!!!!! looks sexy those pics.....cant wait to see the results

MaadDaawg 02-07-2012 08:11 AM

Good news is I kicked it over this morning and everything works

Had to reinstall the video driver to get the quad sli recognized then I turned off everything I could think of (and probably then some). Ran Vantage at all stock speeds (47K+) just to make sure I didn't turn off too much and came through with flying colors.

All shut down now to cool off some while I eat lunch, then I'll start playing with the clocks and the volts and see what I can pull out of this :D

Anticipation.... rofl

Witchdoctor 02-07-2012 08:24 AM

MaadDaawg 02-07-2012 10:25 AM

Could be very apropo WD :Dizzy:

So far it refuses to OC  It hangs at 33 or 66 at times, and at other times hangs at 01 or 03. Won't even boot at the gamers preset for christsake. WTF you you want for a $1K CPU .. :wh2:

Either I have the crappiest processor built or something else ain't right. Going to let everything warm up, pull the phase head and possibly redo the eraser to make sure it's water tight.

Then, try again...

If that fails, I'll have to check out Intel's crappy overclocking chip warranty :argh:

Does LOOK pretty though don't it

Witchdoctor 02-07-2012 10:41 AM

pull the cards and see how the CPU clocks ........

just chuck any POS in the slot

that will give you the quick answer,

Could be power bro

possible one of your PS is not up to the job ......

I think that was holding me back benching this weekend in CF ....

MaadDaawg 02-07-2012 11:05 AM

Man.. I got 2 x 1200 watt PCP&C turbo cools on this thing  Can't remember the number, but I had it up around 5ghz on air when I first got the board, so maybe you're right :Dizzy:

Going to be a bitch pulling 4 wc cards though... maybe I'll just use the switches and isolate the one PSU first... be a lot easier :argh: although AB shows all 4 cards up and running

Witchdoctor 02-07-2012 11:41 AM

yea but running them and over clocking them are two different animals, hit Patch with a PM, he did some 4x 580 benching, know he was scooping up AX power supplies as the TPQ Antecs did not have enough pizazz........

hope one is not going out on you, those PCP&C ain't no cheap date .......... :ohcrap:

Good luck bro .........

punx223 02-07-2012 12:03 PM

disable with switches all but the main card then see if cpu oc works

could be water entry to socket bro. but quick test first

MaadDaawg 02-07-2012 12:16 PM

Just had one to OCZ and they checked it and said all was fine ?? The other one ??? rofl
