How many monitors

Can I run off on one ASUS DirectCU GTX 680 ??

Witchdoctor 08-12-2012 01:38 AM

not sure on the asus but the Galaxy I put in a recent build you can do four

MaadDaawg 08-12-2012 04:55 AM

There are output for four on the ASUS, so I would think it would do 4 as well. Since I'm only going to use 3... should be no problem :D

Thanks WD

4 is a good number as you can have three for surround and the fourth one above for monitoring component usage and temps ..........

^ i been thinking about mounting my 40in on top of my 3 tiny screens and slowly replacing the little ones. but it's prob not gonna happen anyttime too soon since i just moved out and not gonna move back home for a few money. i'll be either in school or in school so not really gonna be using anything other than my laptops

when you plug them in what happens man? you never told us?

do you see 4 attached display devices in resolution setup?

MaadDaawg 08-19-2012 02:28 PM

hey dude, I thought you'd call ..... jeeez :D

If I connect the display port with a DVI cable attached all bets are off. If I attach the two DVI and one HDMI, I can tie all three screens together but once I meld them into one, the center screen becomes untouchable. It displays, but the mouse won't fall on it.

I'm going to try (again) using a HDMI/DVI coverter cable and see if that helps, but IIRC, that gave me the floating middle screen also :ohcrap:

if using a converter you may need an active converter man.

an active HDMI/DVI converter? or a DP/DVI active converter. People on Hardforum claimed to use a HDMI/DVI cable and it worked fine. Could be my cable is torqued but I haven't had a chance to get out and buy another one yet to test that out.

Ive had a few that were finnicky but connecting DVi>DVI on 2 displays.... HDMI>HDMI on another and
DP>DP on another worked just fine for me.
