Step right up, step right up...
Be amazed, be enchanted, be mystified, be amused.... For today you will see every weirdo ever imagined by your mind and heart. Some will make you laugh. With some you will cry. But it is my hope that these talented and tenderhearted Overclockers will grant you passage to the greatest depths of your own soul and imagination. :clapping: Drop on by and share your latest overclocking endeavors. Never too small, never to big, lets do what we do and catch this pig. :confused5: I'll start it off. As some of you know, I've been smacking around the ole 1090T for a few weeks now. AMD clocking makes my brain go :confused2:. So many settings tied together. I've ran into a few issues here and there. 4.5ghz to 4.3ghz seems to be standard and solid for overclocking on water and keeping voltages under control, less than 1.55 vcore. She ran wprime 1024 without a hitch. Although timings were not optimal, 4.4ghz was the highest clock I could get it to run on water without crazy voltages. http://hwbot.org/image/1443739.jpg |
Pumped out a few PCmark05 runs this weekend. Never really ran the bench. It was a real pain getting the OS to run the benchmark.
My Sandy 24/7 machine required Windows Media Encoder 9 32bit to run the benchmark although I'm running a 64bit OS. The bench had far more issues. Needed to at least Media Player 10 on XP, or Media Player 12 on Windows 7 to run the benchmark. XP did not give me a good score so moved on to Tiny Windows 7. W7 didn't have a media player and the only way to get Windows Media Player 12 in W7 is in a bundle so.... poped in my W7 Home Edition, which included WMP 12 and installed WME 9 to run the benchmark. So much for old benchmarks :argh: *NOTE* Neither GPU is overclocked http://hwbot.org/image/1444405.jpg http://hwbot.org/image/1444404.jpg http://hwbot.org/image/1444492.jpg |
Been having some major SPI 32M issues for the past couple of weeks on the 1090T. It would take 45min to make a pass at 4.4ghz. Something was not right.
Well, figured it out today. All my issues were happening on TinyXP. Today I ran the 32M on Windows 7 and it ran like it should. Quick 4ghz clock it took 18min. So looks like it was a borked TinyXP OS. Weewh... glad it's a simple fix. Next on the agenda is load up some TinyXP (or XP FLP), redo old school OS tweaks, relearn wazza and bench me some 32M. |
Good benchin OCM.
Never understood what XP FLP was and never installed it.....does it yield better performance over a naked xp? |
wow nice setup dude!

Looking to go cold one step at a time. LN2 is $14 a liter in Hawaii, not really affordable. Need to setup an LN2 hookup :keeporder: In the meanwhile.....
Testing out the ole chillah with distilled water. Slushy Machine :) T1=CPU Block Temp T2=Ambient Temp Insulated lines and a little HEET should net sub-zero temps  Attachment 7580 Attachment 7581 Attachment 7582 |
Thinking it has potential.

Added a bottle of HEET to the loop. Time to insulate the chiller.

Quick test on 1090T.
4.4GHz 1.53 vcore Aida64 stress test Water only in loop Water temp held at 2C thru stress I'll insulate board tomorrow and add a bottle of HEET to the loop. Attachment 7611 |

Finished motherboard insulation and cleaned the area a bit.

Your insulation job looks tight from the pics bro, nice work. Might need some on the mounting screws tho or just papertowel.
Hats off, fine job. |

Ran some CPUz today. http://valid.canardpc.com/dhrjln
CPU water/methanol inlet temp -19c CPU temp in bios -6c Problems: 1. Could only disable 4 out of 6 cores. 2. CPUz reads 2 cores 6 threads no matter how many are activate in bios. 3. TXV and Pump frosted up. Need to insulate a bit better. http://valid.canardpc.com/cache/screenshot/dhrjln.png Attachment 7625 Attachment 7626 Attachment 7627 Attachment 7628 Attachment 7629 Attachment 7630 |
Holy shit, spotted Dom! Hi DOM!
Oh and hey, 5ghz club and climbing. I dunno anythin bout disabling cores on AMD brochacho. That "S"chiller got purdy cold huh, sweet. |
Sup Kal
So is 5 good? |

Okeydokey, Cascade Corner is shaping up. Chiller can sit atop the cascade. Ln2 dewar should fit between cascade and shelf for easy tipping. Almost there.

HOLY CHIT Batman!!! This is going to be EPIC!!
:ola::club::ola: |
I'm a jacktard. Figured out that the 5ghz run was on all 6 cores.
Finally figured out how to run on a single core. Here's my best SPi 1M run. Chiller temp @ -15C CPU temp @ -3C She wants more cold! http://hwbot.org/image/1452335.jpg |
Git it dun. :)
|
I also ran timings at 6-10-6-24 40 T1 but didn't make much difference. Actually ran slower. Weird
Also, looks like I ran out of Image for DOS. Trial key expired, frak! Gonna have to figure out a new way to reload fresh OS's. |
thought the server had a full license copy?
|
Looks like I found my next chillah concoction thanks to Drewmeister.

Conducted a timed temperature drop test on the chiller.
The following are my results: 24.5C to 0C = 6 min 8 sec 24.5C to -10C = 8 min 25 sec 24.5C to -15C = 10 min 38 sec Anything below -15 I start to question the accuracy of the Phobya G 1/4 Thread Inline Temperature Sensor due to how much the reading was jumping around. -23C was the lowest recorded reading. -10 at CPU @ 1.5v Attachment 7641 Attachment 7642 |
So drew still lives? Haven't talk to him for a while lol
Why don't you put the bios time to a older time won't that make the key not expire :P: |

Haha I haven't paid for window's since windows xp home on my first build lol

Had a major leak on the chiller today. :argh:
Hose of pump discharge blew off and sprayed water/methanol all over the place :ohcrap: I was able to secure and clean everything up pretty fast. Installed hose clamp and she is good to go. Took some of the wet rags out to the garage and hit them with a torch to see how flammable the water/meth ratio was. Well, its pretty darn flammable. Started diluting loop with some 50/50 mix antifreeze. You know what they say, delusion is the solution. |

Made the top 3 on chilled water wprime 32m.
Chiller is having issues keeping up with wprime 1024m. Need more cold! Attachment 7657 http://hwbot.org/image/1453249.jpg |
u lose a stick G?
|
Don't think so. Sticks are 2gb x 2
