Freakin insane...

DrNip 06-25-2009 05:57 AM

I'm lookin for at least 35k in 06. Nothin less. Also I didn't want anyone shattin themselves or passin out on their keyboard when I start postin scores at the Bot with them.

Splave 06-25-2009 06:06 AM

awesome man, thinking of going the same route myself but might hold onto the x2's a bit longer

punx223 06-25-2009 06:13 AM

look like your gonna be having some fun!!!!

DrNip 06-25-2009 06:14 AM

Goin for some big boy points.

Jeffro64 06-25-2009 06:16 AM

Sweet.... I think i'm gonna hold out for the 5800's though, shouldn't be long.

DrNip 06-25-2009 06:20 AM

Well I had to jump in somewhere as last generation of cards I bought were the vanilla 260's. They aren't the 216 versions either. This was sometime last summer I might add. Well I take that back, last cards I bought were the 9800gt's but that was strictly for bot points and have already sold them. I couldn't see waitin another generation so I bought these. Goin to milk them then dump them for the next gens.

RomDominance 06-25-2009 06:20 AM

Nothin beats a hernia and coffee in the morning! Thanks for the early morning butt pucker Nip.....as if the team jump wasn't enough!:argh:
Seriously, good luck with those bud, should be fun.

Jeffro64 06-25-2009 06:25 AM

I'm sure they will do just fine Nip.... Things are just a bit tight for me now thats all. I'm hoping to put up some points myself this weekend with my new i7 x58 rig!

DrNip 06-25-2009 06:28 AM

I hear ya as I spent way more money this month than what I anticipated. These and the RAM set me back. Waaaaay back. Will have to lay low for a bit and stack some cash. I should have enough to hold me over.

2chesapeakes 06-25-2009 07:10 AM

I'm looking forward to seeing the scores. Starting to feel like the 4870x2's are out dated now. Where in the hell are the 4890X2's anyway.

Jeffro64 06-25-2009 07:14 AM

With the 58xx's coming soon they might just wait to do x2's on those.

limpkorn 06-25-2009 07:16 AM

Very tempting I had the same cart checkout setup a week ago really contemplating trying out CrossfireX with three 4890's.

I guess I'll wait to hear your experience with these! Please do post.

ocgmj 06-25-2009 08:58 AM

Very nice bro, Frozen cards would be magical.

Oh I will. :gun4:

DrNip 06-25-2009 04:28 PM

Looks like I might have to hold off benchin these puppies due to my RAM set back. :(

that card is for sure not dead yet :D.

can take all wr's except for 01 and am3! with a 775 cpu atleast :?

DrNip 06-26-2009 08:16 AM

I swear it never fails me. Everytime I order somethin, somethin better comes put or somethin I have been waitin for. For example:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814121308

They didn't have this the other day and I sure the hell would have ordered these instead. What can you do. Take my Sapphires and be happy as I am not goin thru another RMA!!!!

limpkorn 06-26-2009 09:10 AM

Wow, so sorry to hear you missed the ASUS cards they do look sweet.

Dude, I can't really wait to see how your tri Crossfire rig works out the only thing holding me back from getting three of those sapphire cards like you is that I can't find anything with 3X HD4890's to see if the scaling doesn't suck as bad is it does when doing 3X HD4870's.

Splave 06-26-2009 09:21 AM

holy shit, that thing has 6 heatpipes?

Yeah, that's defintely going to be one cool card.

Anyone seen anybody running three HD4890's yet? With some benchies? :(

Neuromancer 06-26-2009 10:19 AM

Man I wish.

I just looked at the bot the other day for multi GPUs, looks like I could nab some points with a third or 4th 4850 :)

Just split up the CF, and no chance in hell of making top 20 on a 4850. Guys are running 8-900 and higher GPU clocks :s. Guess im going to need to do a volt mod *sigh

EDIT: Wow just looking at the specs on that ASUS... I did not know they were even sold at 850MHz. ASUS, I hate to admit, is the card to buy though in theory. They designed the VRMs that made the 4890 possible. These things are so fast, I actually though that they all came at 1000MHz GPU clock.

Are they the only one that comes with software for vgpu control?

DrNip 06-26-2009 10:23 AM

Here was a review on it awhile back.

limpkorn 06-26-2009 11:15 AM

Thanks Nip, but actually I meant reviews of 3X HD4890's in CrossfireX setup. :( Can't find anything so I'm really looking forward to your input.
