Correct! :good:

Neuromancer 08-04-2009 09:05 AM

Oh yah, tighten that stuff up :D

Looking good though, always loving playing with new tech :D

Word of advice, take your volt measurements from the mobo so you know what thy are so you can properly tune them into BIOS. Mine are pretty close to what Eleet reports except my RAM. It is .05v off from what it reports. So a setting of 1.6 in BIOS is 1.65 in Windows.

ocgmj 08-04-2009 09:15 AM

Maybe shoot for 8-8-8-20?

Hell no, try 7-7-7-18-5-60-1T to warm up. Those are 2133 bin elpidas cool2

DrNip 08-04-2009 12:43 PM

I am interested in seeing what that bad boy of a cpu you have does.

Yah, I'm familiarizing myself with the bios and starting to research i7, late to the party but usually have the most fun.

Where are you measuring from?

I'll start tightening it up a bit, tried runnign the xmp1 profile at 2133 mhz w/auto timings, it hangs.

I noticed that an unstable boot will hang on post codes but if you hit restart button, it'll push thru to the operating system and crash there. Just need to tweak the voltages I suspect. Whats an above average bclck?

All the voltages are on auto cept the dimm which is at the rated 1.65v. The vCore seems a bit low but it ran 32m easy breezy.

Along side the top of the motherboard. Right above the RAM. There are 9 measuring points with descriptions for what they all are. I would manually set your CPU, VTT, IOH and DIMM volts then boot to Windows and see what they really are compared to what they were set in BIOS as those are the main volts you will be jivin with the most.

Wow very cool.

I do not think I have ever seen that on a mobo before. Is that a design first?

(not measuring points I mean but all in a row and labelled :) )

Kal-EL 08-05-2009 05:55 AM

Thx nip, noob not reading the manual and just wingin it like always.

Buckeye 08-05-2009 06:20 AM

Its better to just stick your tounge on those pads, it you get that funny feeling then they are good to go :rofl

karmakazi 08-05-2009 07:57 AM

Nice stuff supes. Your gonna have one helluva setup once you get down n dirty tweakin it. Are you focusing on air cooling for the LCC right now?

When you go cold remember to set the cold bug jumper on the board, and also to set the bios to "cold mode." And also remember i7 has 3 coldbugs instead of 2, with the IMC coldbugging sometimes.

I believe asus beat them to the punch with rampage II extreme which also features readout points.

Nice set-up man . Can't wait to see what you pull off with it.

So far, dating Ms. Classy is going well, we haven't gone to second base yet but we've laid down some ground rules:
