I'm not well versed with ATI cards but this bit of info may be helpfull.

Original thread

Shared info:
Code:

you can edit this setting from windows registry, and for me the key is

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Cl ass\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0003\EnableUlps

set 1 to enable ULPS
set 0 to disable ULPS

Might help with the 5970 transition issue between 3D/2D when benching at high clocks. Get rid of whatever ultra slow power state there is enabled by default.

WTF Splave? Guessing you have not been keeping up on issues with the newer architectures eh?

Thanks for the post Kal, should help some people out.

Easy guys, I'm guessing that he was short of time and was simply stating that he doesn't have any idea how this would help and therefore posed a quick format question that could be interpreted any number of ways. :morpheus:

Ah... yeah I can totally see it that way now.

Splave.. some of the 5800 series have problems with setting the 2d power setting too low. This is a fix for those unwilling to BIOS edit :)
