IMHO, for asshats that commit crimes like this there is only one form of punishment that fits the crime. Let the victims family choose the method of death, and administer it if they so please.

Problem is that most of them seem to do it and then kill themselves before they get picked up. A long slow death is in order. Something like hot irons on one side of the body and LN2 on the other - until they meet in the middle to even things out.
