South Africa already launched it's qualifier and already overclockers are posting their results. Anyone from south Africa can enter. Prizez are: 1st place wins one overclocker an all expenses paid trip to indonesia to compete in the Asia regional final. You will compete vs countries like Australia, malaysia, indonesia etc. To see if you can make it to the World Finals! 2nd place is a Gigabyte X58 UD7 motherboard, gigabyte's top board. 3rd place is a Gigabyte X58 UD3R. You can read more about entering the competition here :D, overclockaholics: http://www.prophecy.co.za/forums/top...ry-qualifiers/ Just some photos i took from last year to make it look nicer in this thread :<. Hopefully i'll get to go again this year, i will fight my ass off for it! (but i'll probly go woot :D!) The CPU's and cards in these comps are handed out randomly, correct? That means luck + skill = anyone can win.
Hmmm.....I wish I could get flown somewhere where cheerleaders fill up thermoses for you... |
so the sr-2 if released (this month) will be able to compete since its x58 ?

They have NEVER done open comp for the US. Every year I complain (in any GOOC thread I can find) and every year my teammates tell me im whining. :ash1:
USA is the only region in the world, where the event is an invite only. I think its pretty shameful. Just my opinion of course since others have told me.... Me: Too bad gigabyte does invite only... so lame. someone: whining about not getting invited instead of stepping up to the plate and making sure you get asked...is so lame Me:OK, so having the same ppl go year in and year out is somehow representative of North Americas overclockers (or even interesting)? Online qualifiers is how its done for the rest of the world, except NA. Im not whining im pointing out a flaw:rolleyes: someone: i understand your side of the coin, but there is a very distinct recipe for getting invited...and IMO, it takes more effort to get invited than an online qualification would offer, so which method really is better? |
