F1 vs Koolance V2

Okay, settle down .. we all know the F1 is the way to go, but... just contemplating what might happen if one were to tap the holes in the F1 the way Koolance tapped the wholes in their little tiny nickle covered copper base?

Would it help, or frack it all up ???

Inquiring minds want to know :P

I would say it would frack it all to hell and back. That design is as it is for a reason, and if ain't broke...don't fix it ;)

Total noob question here

if you are pouring shit in a receptical that is -160C

does it matter what it is in ?

Having a tough time understanding how specific design would matter like they would with say a water block where design is paramont

In a nut shell what ever it is in should be cols as shit ???

Yeah, mine has 4 big holes, one in each "corner" and 4 smaller holes in the middle ??

Wasn't plannin on doing it, damn thing costs too much to eff with, was just curious what you all might think about the idea :P

The holes are smaller to increase mass for load handling of hotter chips.

I'm with witchie though.... Strap a small cardboard box to the cpu, pour in ln2, it still gets cold rofl..... Someone HAS to try that...

Witchdoctor 04-22-2010 11:37 AM

Looking at it MD .... if you threaded rods into it sticking up say 3 or 4 inches it may be paramount

wonder if that is the intension of the threads ???

thinking of a nuclear reactor rod drop set up if that make sence
