It would seem that there's a storm brewing on the international memory market. No less than two weeks back G.Skill announced their Trident Series DDR3, capable of reaching speeds of 2500 "MHz" - effectively 1250 MHz in DDR mode - at 9-11-9-28 timings. Having barely recovered from the shock, Patriot Memory today unleashed its new ultra-high performance Viper II Series Sector 5 Edition Extreme Performance DDR3 memory for Intel P55 platforms.

Nice! My question is did RAM manufacturers just quitting making triple channel RAM? Sure would be nice to have some new out.

They still make Triple Channel, its just harder for them to make kits that can reach that kind of frequency with the current IMCs.

Just frustration I had to get out as I feel I bought a dying socket. Didn't know it until a few months afterwards. Was sure this socket was the next, greatest thing to come for a while, not a few months. Oh well, saving my lunch money for Sandybridge. Hopefully she doesn't due me like this 1356 socket i7 did.
