Tangent Soldering Videos

Here are some nice video guides for how to solder if you are looking to do a lil volt modding that I got off i4memory.com posted by eva2000.

WOW talk about dry!!

But interesting and fascinating at the same time :) I've been playing with the idea of volt modding and really glad I found these before I tried it out.

Thanks DrNip

Thanks for bumpin this OCM.

Great thread.

Soldering is easy with the right tools and practice. Like all things though, a $20 part will not give you million dollar results. there is a reason that professional soldering station... Look cheesy, but cost $500. I can tell you for sure... BIG difference in ease of use.

Just saying that the guys makes it look easy, but is probably using a weller. Not a RS unit.

Tell you what, I'm no electrician. I'm a knuckle draggin submarine mechanic. Killed 4 gpus in the last 2 months trying to vmod. Watching these videos opened my eyes to what I was doing wrong. With a $5 Walmart soldering iron I was able to Vmod my Commando with great success.

These videos are a must to any new vmodder.

Again thanks Nips for the videos, watched them this morning and motivated me to mod the Commando. They surely helped me not bork the board!

Bump was truly deserved ;)

OCM

I am a nub. Dunno. Weller stations were so much easier to use than my RS model. Then again... my RS cant handle 12 gauge wire either. So wish I had a solder pot.
