CrossfireX on XP 64 bit

Has anyone here used XP 64 bit for 2x 4870X2's and had CrossfireX work for them? I have been dealing with some vista security issues that effectively crash my pc when they come up and am contemplating going back to XP 64 bit.

In XP no, my question was for XP64. If you haven't tried XP64 than you probably don't realize just how much different it really is from it's 32 bit counterpart.

I have tried it and the system crashes and hangs on the boot screen. If I remember correctly both XP 32 and 64 will only recognize 2 GPU max. I have ran xp64 in some benches lately and it only scored marginally better than Vista64 I don't know how that translates into gaming or every day performance as it is installed on thebenching rig.

Most all of my older games ran much smoother on xp64 than xp32 and vista's 32/64. This is with nvidia cards and I've not tried the latest releases. Microstutter and smoother frame rates were had in xp64.

Wish I could comment on new releases but, I'm a bencher now. :D

On my set up it would blue screen on the windows screen. I was never able to get into XP64 with 2 x 4870x2 however single 4870x2 would work in crossfire.

I will give it a try again this weekend and see what happens

I eagerly await your results.

So... Can you use 2 4870 x2's in XP 64 or no? I have one in XP 32 now and I don't see a setting anywhere for Crossfire... where is that setting in the CCC?

3 GPU's or more require vista.
