Stress Free Session

3 Attachment(s)
I had a little no stress, no worries session tonight. This was just playing around. No worries about boints, rankings, or how my scores stack up. Just overclocking for the fun of it. :) I had one of the most enjoyable sessions I've had in a long long time. I ran some Vantage and 06 to start, but didn't improve my scores and moved on to my favorite instead of getting stressed out for nothing. So super pi 32m it is. ;) Now I just need to get me some Hypers. I'm so close to where I wanna be with my efficiency, but I need some ram to push me over the hump.

Test Setup:
Core i7 920
EVGA Classified e759
Corsair Dom 1866 C9 6x2GB
EVGA gtx285
Antec 1200w
Single Stage by Runmc
My version of XP SP3

Here was my first run of the night. Just testing a little low clock efficiency. Here's the basline.

4189mhz | 8m 37.500s

Final run on low clock. Decent improvement given the ram I have. :) Come to think of it, I think I had a 8m 31.xx run, but not sure. Oh well, no worries.

4189mhz | 8m 33.375s

At the end of the night I decided to bump the clocks up a little. I still gotta a little efficiency to squeeze out at this mhz, but its not worth my time. Only ran this speed for two runs. I'm still learning this CPU's behaviors, so I'm shooting for 5ghz+ 32m sometime this weekend. She is a moody bitch for sure though.

Good stuff bro, however, why don't you just try running 3GB's instead? Should stress the IMC less and give you better results I would think.

Thanks  The 4.2ghz isn't great, but I couldn't run over 4ghz uncore for some reason. Went straight to 4.8ghz with 4.6ghz uncore no problems. :Dizzy: I'm not good at those crazy efficiencies in the low mhz anyways. I just find a good PP and try to keep it with higher clocks.

Well after Gutterz's majic, dual channel is next. Other than that, 6GB is just a hair faster than 3GB on 32m.

All of 'em. I need to rifine my waza on this OS and try a few other things, but what you see is what tricks I got. Gonna play with the ram some more this morning.

Yah, I think it comes down to the individual. WR's have been broke with both and I think there is no real difference in the two. Tweaks applied of course.
