EVGA ECPv1 vs ECPv2

Other than button colors, is there really any difference between the v1 and v2 versions of the ECP ??

They seem to be completely interchangeable - or am I missing something?

Splave 07-05-2010 09:14 AM

If I remember V1 the buttons are +1 +1 +1 for vcore
V2 is +1 +1 for vcore +1 for vtt

They are completely interchangeable between p55 and x58 however the labels on the buttons would be wrong.

planet is correct, as they are completely interchangeable, but the buttons would still do the same as the original for that board.

even teh new ECP V3 for SR-2 will work on any ECP capable board.... just the buttons will not be labeled correctly. and the SR-2 ecp also has a few extra jumpers for cpu disable

So, are BOTH Planet and Splavious right :Dizzy:

Working my way through cleaning up all the bits and pieces, hopefully I'll find the second v2 somewhere in the mess

Thanks guys :)

Splave 07-05-2010 04:49 PM

yes it just wont do what it says, it will only do what the original ecp for the board says :) I never use it for vcore anyways

punx223 07-06-2010 09:01 AM

yeah both planet and splave are correct. no matter the version the only difference will be possible disable jumpers and the writing that tells you what the 3 buttons do, but no matter the version, the function of teh 3 buttons will be what the original ECP for that board does.
