How to see network password while logged into that network
Is this possible? someone lost the network password but there is still a computer connected to that network. Is there a way to show the network password while connected?
This is for wireless inter-office internet. Router is off limits, the office manager is the only one with the info and is on vacation for a week! |
What os? Vista and 7 yes. XP not really unless it uses networking software other than M$ zero config.

I have not tried it but...
http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/wireless_key.html Failing that, if it is WEP you can crack it in a few hours to a day usually, just need a wireless machine sitting within range running airsnort WPA is a lot tougher but probably doable by now. Not that I have ever done it mind you, just for informations sake I have read up a little on wardriving back in the day. |
wow is it really that easy to crack? free internet ftw
|
Air Snort (Linux app) does it a good bit faster for WEP, and probably does WPA and WPA2 by now. Gotta run Linux iirc... I doubt there was ever a Windoze version developed that was any good. I haven't seen that proggy in years though.

Yeah and it only works with certain wireless chipsets. Cheaper it is the less likely it will woirk with linux/airsnort.
Here is more info for running on windows http://airsnort.shmoo.com/windows.html |
i remember a gpu was used by russians to break password on wireless stuff....man atinvidia rocks on those :D
