I got a pot on the way...........F1 EE

Too bad I can't afford any LN2. Probably a good thing so I can learn how to use the stuff before I get it and waste it. :)

Is the white tube that I don't see in the picture something I need?

this is awesome news, you will never look back

Congrats bro! :D

I would say start with DIce but on AMD there is no cold bug to worry about...
See if you can borrow 200L of LHe ;)

Addict born! Man it only took you two weeks from hanging the mobo upside down to a LN2 pot. :D Wonder whats next. :ohcrap:

I'm really not the type of person to start out with dry ice, but I may due to the availability of funds in the near future. It'll be interesting to see the progress I make by going to each next step of cooling.

I've already learned a very important lesson....my cpu runs a heck of a lot better when it's really cold.

I'd love to test out my Opty 170 with cold, but I couldn't get either 939 board going in a recent attempt.

What about the tube?

EDIT: it's been a good 3 weeks  is liquid helium expensive? It'd be fun to try. (nevermind..I don't want to know)

LHe is crazy expensive and its gone quicker that LN2 so you better stick to LN2 or DICE for starters. I know someone who is selling a small 15L Dewar if you interested.

Naww I'm too broke to buy anything, but thanks. That would be good for like 1 session huh?

Neuromancer 09-09-2010 07:51 PM

Moar is better... of course...

Dice is fun and a GREAT way to start, but considering you were subzero before dice....

I went from rad out the window in winter (sub zero celsius of course not F) to Dice and then to LN2... WOW... It is a rush. Did not keep my dewar, but figured.. I can only afford to get 160L at a time anyway...just need to move my bench closer to outside :)

Have fun in your endeavors...

The strength of AMD is in numbers... you can buy 20 AMD chips for what 2-3 top level intel ones do...(plus cheaper everythign else including power supplies and electric bill :p )

Basically design for LN2... might suffer a little on DIce... but you will go LN2... you will find it for $1 a liter or less.. might take 12 months but you will and on amd there is no reason to limit yourself to DIce.

Great news!

LN2 is colder, cleaner, and gives you more titratable temps. But I still use DICE all the time - sometimes on one component when using LN2 on another.

Highly recommend DICE experience even if you plan on LN2 soon.
