I think I bricked my DFI LP UT Ultra-D I think I must have reinstalled the chipset HS so that it shorted something out.......is the only thing that makes any sense to me. I took everything apart and let it sit overnight to no avail. Any suggestions? :keeporder:.........currently hunting for another board that I cannot afford. |

What are the symptoms? Does it even power on, does power on but only posts to a certain point or what? |
|
All I get is the standby LED. No POST at all...no beeps or anything. EDIT: and I'm sure the chipset cooler is on there evenly now. |
|
you can remove the motherboard heatsinks and just check if it can post... |

Just as dead with no HS on the chipset..........ohh well it's not as bad as bringing home a wrecked snowmobile. The guy I got it from suggested baking it at 350 for 15 minutes.....isn't that what you do with a GPU? |
|
Have reset the CMOS as well as pulled the battery and let it sit for awhile without the battery in? |

350F ...thats where some solder melts..lmao..he's an idiot.....when i say melt...components will fall off. Common solder alloys are mixtures of tin and lead, respectively:

Yup I let it sit all night but you know what I haven't tried and am going to right now is another cpu. BRB. And I didn't follow his advice....I figured I should ask first. EDIT: not the cpu. |

What do the 4 red LED's stop on? |
