Man I miss the military bad. I always wanted to go on a med and pac float. So how much more shore duty do you have?

As bad as that looks I have been in far worse waters. I recall one afternoon in 1977 watching adjacent ships go nearly submerged. The peaks and valleys were so huge you would lose sight of the rest of the fleet.

I've been caught in swells so big that you had to paddle almost half a mile out to get beyond the swells and each wave that passed blanked the island from view. Sat out there for almost an hour waiting for the swell to drop just so I could get home.

My wife was in the Navy. She experienced some of the same. IDK if it was that bad but she's told me some stories. Last thing i'd want is to die at sea.
