Thermal Talk
i was just wondering like how much dose it really matter when you are playing sub zero cuz i been using that cheap cheap bestbuy dynex thermal stuff
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Dynex%26...rmal&cp=1&lp=1 and it didn't seem like made a huge change when i am running LN2 or even Dice i wish i still have that pix i took with all the thermal i have used and under LN2 it didn't make any diff AT ALL! so please enlighten me :Hi: btw i get those dynex stuff for SUPER cheap so |
Try some sliced American Cheese next time. Should be quite cheaper :D
|
I have some old thermal compound from 1992 I use and like you, think there is little to be gained except maybe in the case of an air cooler.
|
I use toothpaste, works great and cheap too, :P

We usually get White American sliced really thin. (Can almost see through it ;)) |
It can make a big difference at full LN2 temps. It's probably a non-issue with dry ice.

moved to extreme overclocking section from general discussion...

guys what the hell man American Chees, toothpaste?
thank you superman for moving it and rickss for keepin it on track but naw for real dose it really make a diff when you are putting the computer under sub -100C cuz everytime when i put my chip LN2 my thermal freezs and it didn't make much of a diff when it's with different thermals... i was just also wondering... how much do you guys run with those thermals cuz i go though a tube of it ever like 10 ~ 15 benches (i do wipe off the old thermal everytime and put new ones on) also the bestbuy tube is 5g ea |
yes it does make a difference, thats why everyone is using OCZ freeze. Ive seem myself an extra 200mhz cpu tests vantage and wprimes
