der8auer ECC RAPTOR3
Hey there guys :)
Let me introduce my latest product to you: RAPTOR3 RAPTOR3 is the result of over a half year of testing, optimization and development in cooperation with German engineers. We completely revised the structure to create the best GPU pot available. Thin arms allow a very fast cool-down while the structure in the middle reduces temperature ups and downs for the best temperature control. Additional slots at the bottom of the pot dispense the LN2 to all four chambers and reduce the bubbling significantly. A black anodized aluminium plate at the bottom in combination with the nickle-plated copper perfects the design. The new stainless steel mounting system will give you the maximum contact pressure and using the stainless steel backplate you don't risk to damage your GPU by bending the PCB. And to protect my work: Patent pending! Saw that on facebook earlier, looks pretty cool.

Very sexy, why make the bottom two pieces ?
Seems like a matenance issue as time passes ? |

The aluminium part is not important at all for the heat distribution. And two parts were necessary to create the connection between all 4 chambers. edit: Btw there is some sealing mass between the two parts so there won't be any leaking issues if you were thinking about that :) |
Yes that was the point, if the liquid comes in contact with the secondary peice it has to be considered a weakness ?
Or does the liquid not come in contact with it ? .... but from the pics the design counts on contact with that bottom piece. I dig how the channels distribute the liquid evenly and I understand that a two peice desing is the only way to achieve this. I do think it is a superior design as opposed to a straight bore, but again, what does seal this are you living on an O ring ??? and if so what is the life expectancy of said O ring and is there a number of replacments that come with if in fact you are using an O ring, Ultimantly reguardles of the sealant used a failure will ocure with out maintaing this two piece design. |
That was one important part of the development :)
The sealing mass is a special product with a temperature range from -240 to +260 °C. It's special made for cryo-stuff and for liquid nitrogen. Means you don't have to worry about it. It will not fail. It's not an O-Ring. It looks a bit like thermal paste. |
I see, the whole design looks off the chian, grats on a new and unique design. It is easy to see how this will take it's place at the top. The channels disributing the liquid evenly across the sump.
Finish it absolutly stunning ............... What's the price of admission ? |
Thanks a lot :)
It's one of the most expensive pots tho :D Price and other details are on www.der8auer.com Price is 369,90 €. But you get what your paying for :D |
Can this be used with dice and acetone?
Great looking by the way. |
Yes :)
The sealing mass is a kind of liquid PTFE and also resists acetone. I tested isopropyl alcohol, acetone, water and LN2. Pot is 100% not leaking. And thank you! |
