A look at the 5960X

I have to admit I had reservations about the CPU running it stock. I then decided to run it at 4.5. I haven't tried to go any higher. I toasted a 5930 because mostly I wasn't paying attention...
After going to 4.5 3D11 is the fastest I have ever run it. Even with 2 reg. Titans or AMD 295 which is 2 290's...I will push the chip further but for now the chip is amazing and will do things with those extra 2 cores for a water cooling guy that is amazing.

This firestrike score is the best this water cooled guy has ever did at any speed!!! I ran the 3930K at 5.1 and the 5930 at 4.8 with the same Titan X so it's not all video card..As you can see I'm not pushing the video card. YET..I'll get to it....

4.6 and 4.7 coming up..The 5960X at 4.5 could actually run that speed 24/7..The highest temp on any core was the high 60's after benchmarking..I had 1 core reach 72 after I ran FS Extreme...

I agree, the closer you get to 4.8ghz on this chip the FPS start flying and gameplay is smooth and thoroughly enjoyable. Happy I made the upgrade but be sure this chip needs careful attention to proper TIM and cooling for it to shine.
